You're listening to The Drew Lane Show.

SPEAKER_2 (0:04)

Hello, is this Howard Peterson?

You live in Columbus, Ohio, is that correct? Yeah, you racist piece of shit.

SPEAKER_3 (0:13)

You heard me, you're an intolerant pig. Oh, you're not?

SPEAKER_2 (0:17)

You just choose to live in a city named for ethnic cleansing?

SPEAKER_3 (0:20)

No, fuck you!

SPEAKER_2 (0:21)

Rename your city, asshole!

SPEAKER_4 (0:24)

Fun fact, Columbus is in the bad place because of all the raping, slavery, trade, and genocide.

Marc Fellhauer (0:31)

Happy Columbus Day.

SPEAKER_6 (0:33)

I used to live there.

SPEAKER_7 (0:34)

I was born there. Racist piece of shit.

SPEAKER_8 (0:36)

Columbus, Ohio, yeah.

Drew Lane (0:38)

I didn't realize it was Columbus Day.

Marc Fellhauer (0:40)

Well, I know you recognize it as Indigenous Peoples Day.

Drew Lane (0:43)

Of course.

It's very woke of you. No, the Italians were very upset because Mom Dommy didn't march with them in New York for, I guess it was for Columbus Day.

Marc Fellhauer (0:52)

What a sensitive group of people those Italians are.

Drew Lane (0:56)

Actually, there were two marches. One of them didn't give a fuck, and the other one didn't sound like they gave much of a fuck. They were just saying that he didn't even return their invitation. But whatever, who wants Mom Dommy in their march anyway?

Okay, so we got a bunch of things going on today.

There's some strange things going on in the music business. I was watching this video of Cliff Richard, who is 86 years old. He was singing, and somebody was saying, what is this old man doing out there? And he was kind of boogieing around a little bit, and he was moving slowly. He sounded pretty good, though. And I saw a lot of people going, well, what the fuck? If his fans are having fun, the place is just about full. What's the big deal? And I kind of felt the same way. It's like usually these people complaining about people being too old to perform. It's like usually they're not the fans.

Marc Fellhauer (1:45)

That could be said about any performer that performs anywhere. Comedians, all kinds, right?

Drew Lane (1:51)

Yeah, if the fans themselves want to pay their money, and they love this person, they want to go see him perform, maybe they're not at their absolute peak performance.

SPEAKER_11 (2:00)

He does have a nice brown brunette hair.

Drew Lane (2:03)

Look, I don't-

SPEAKER_12 (2:04)

He doesn't look 86 at all, I gotta say.

Marc Fellhauer (2:06)

I don't understand, and someone can try to explain it, banana ball in the Savannah bananas? I don't know if you saw the banana bowl. I thought that was the gayest thing I've ever seen.

Brandon McAfee (2:14)

Mark can not get off of this. He's been talking, he's brought this up six or seven times.

Marc Fellhauer (2:18)

My point is, if you like it, you can like it. I don't get it, I'm never going to like it.

Drew Lane (2:23)

I'm not sure I get it either. I'm not really sure what to do. Did you see the coverage of it?

No.

Marc Fellhauer (2:26)

Oh, can I play the coverage from Good Morning America?

SPEAKER_6 (2:28)

I saw Comerica Park was full.

Marc Fellhauer (2:29)

No, they sell out, and this was their Super Bowl, their big game was banana, but every highlight was just a bunch of dancing. So it's like, let's be on a baseball team so we can dance? I don't know, I don't get it.

Drew Lane (2:41)

Honestly, I have no clue what's going on. I don't know why this is so attractive to people, but I don't care. If they like it, they like it.

Marc Fellhauer (2:46)

I'm not going to complain about it.

SPEAKER_11 (2:47)

Let's go back to Cliff Richard. What is his song?

Drew Lane (2:52)

He had a couple of hits in the early 70s. He's big in the UK. He didn't think he's in America. I think he's a UK thing. But also Barry Manilow I guess did two songs and he quit.

Marc Fellhauer (3:02)

Yeah, his second day of residency in Vegas, and he was just like, I've got bronchitis.

SPEAKER_14 (3:10)

Ain't nobody got time for that.

Brandon McAfee (3:11)

We don't have good video of it, but they do have a video of his final performance before he quit. And he looks fabulous. A little better than before.

Marc Fellhauer (3:22)

Oh, he looks wonderful.

Drew Lane (3:24)

He looks sculpted as ever.

SPEAKER_10 (3:29)

Wait, the microphone is a long way away from his mouth, isn't it?

SPEAKER_7 (3:32)

All right, I'm sorry. Look at him dancing though.
