In this first clip with Karl-Anthony Towns and his interview with the New York Times, he's speaking about going up against Victor Wembanyama and what he said to him during one of the games in the NBA Finals. I was just being competitive. I saw respect to the opponents and stuff. I just was being competitive, and I have tremendous confidence in my ability and what I do and the work I put in. So, you know, it was the moment. It's the NBA Finals, and you're on the biggest stage against one of the best players in the world. And I wanted to prove again after all these years, prove again where I stand in the NBA.

I don't... I'm glad. He deserves it. He's a generational player. He's a 7'5, 7'4, whatever we want to say. He's extremely tall and he's God gifted with intangibles that none of us were able to get. I mean, I'm 7 Thank God. But 7'4 would have been cool too.
And he deserved it. But, you know, I've earned my stripes in this league too. And I'm a competitor and I wanted to go against... I always say I want to go out there and play against the best. And I was out there with one of the best. And we just wanted to compete at a high level.

I love that response from Karl-Anthony Towns. And you know what? I'm just going to say it. Wemby, he cannot fudge with Karl-Anthony Towns, especially when Towns is in the moment, in the zone, and he cannot be taken away from that. And you could see it during some of those photos that we saw while he was talking. He looked so dominant against Wemby, especially during games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals. We all know that, we all saw that, and to be quite honest, I'm very happy about what we saw from Karl-Anthony Towns during the NBA Finals, at least during the start of it. We can say whatever we want to say for the rest of the games for the NBA Finals, but to start everything off, Karl-Anthony Towns was locked in and he was focused. And I really appreciate what he had to say during this interview about Wemby.
