Four, three, two, one. So we get here, and young Jamie is obsessed with whether or not Leonardo da Vinci is gay.
And so he says it to Callen, and then Callen says...
Bryan Callen (0:14)
I said the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa has a mischievous smile on her face, and apparently, according to art historians, I believe that is a self-portrait, and that was da Vinci himself in drag.
Brendan Schaub (0:30)
Is this a conspiracy theory, sir?
Bryan Callen (0:31)
And that's why he is looking back at you with sort of a wry smirk.
Joe Rogan (0:36)
I don't see that wry smirk. Young Jamie, please pull up a photograph of the masterpiece.
Bryan Callen (0:41)
No, I think this is... This is real? I think this is...
At least Dan Brown, in his book The Da Vinci Code, actually talks about it. But I think this is standard...
Brendan Schaub (0:51)
You're talking about the Tom Hanks movies?
Bryan Callen (0:53)
Yes. Good movie.
Joe Rogan (0:55)
Better book. The book is a different thing than the movies.
Bryan Callen (0:57)
Dan Brown, I think, is a professor of theology at Harvard or something like that.
Joe Rogan (1:04)
I don't see a sly smile. I see a chick who lives in a place where the food sucks and her teeth are probably all fucked up.
Bryan Callen (1:12)
She's a bit soft. She's soft.
Brendan Schaub (1:13)
No, that's that dick smile, bro. She has a smirk for sure.
Joe Rogan (1:16)
Here's an interesting thing. Do you know that people did have bad teeth back then? Of course. Of course, but the majority of the teeth problems that we have in this country have to do with sugar.
Brendan Schaub (1:26)
I thought it was the water, the fluoride in the water.
Joe Rogan (1:29)
No, fluoride in the water.
That fluoride in the water thing is so sketchy. Have you ever looked into whether or not fluoride should be in the water?
Bryan Callen (1:36)
Well, I know that in the 50s, Colorado had a high concentration of fluoride in its water and apparently, apparently Brad smokes weed and turns into a fucking professor.
Apparently, if I could get my poker out, I'm going to poke at the board. But I think it came out of Colorado where there was high concentrations of fluoride in the water and then what happened was they go, well, there's a cluster of people who are not getting cavities.
And so apparently, fluoride is effective at keeping cavities at bay. And I grew up overseas. My teeth are fucking riddled with holes. Riddled with holes. I had fucking-
Joe Rogan (2:20)
Did you eat sugar?
Bryan Callen (2:21)
What? Well, not so much overseas, but I definitely didn't brush my teeth a lot and I didn't have fluoride.
Joe Rogan (2:29)
Well, let's Google whether or not there's evidence that fluoride is good for tooth decay.
Brendan Schaub (2:34)
You think it's all marketing hype from press?
Joe Rogan (2:36)
I don't know, man. I've read too many hippie articles. The problem is the hippie articles confuse you because it'll say like naturalnewsletter.com.
Brendan Schaub (2:44)
They brush your teeth with like coal and shit.
Joe Rogan (2:46)
You don't know, man, cuz there's people that get like homeopathic on you, and you're like, okay, is this guy right? I'm gonna go through 5,000 words here, is he right or is this horse shit? Am I gonna, okay, now I gotta look up the actual studies. Okay, now I gotta read this three times cuz I'm stupid, and I can't figure out how to decipher it.
Okay, no evidence that fluoridated water causes cavities, reduces cavities, rather.
Bryan Callen (3:09)
That's from Dr. Mercola.
Joe Rogan (3:11)
Now that's a one. Now I've posted articles from mercola.com and people go, oh, that guy's amazing, and then other people go, oh, that guy's a fraud.
Brendan Schaub (3:18)
It's tough to figure out.
Bryan Callen (3:19)
I've read some stuff on Dr. Mercola.
Joe Rogan (3:21)
What have you read?
Bryan Callen (3:22)
Just like the same kind of stuff, and he seems to be pretty, like he's a doctor, but that doesn't mean he's an expert on the gay or on looking at the hard evidence behind fluoride.
Joe Rogan (3:33)
To the American Dental Association, fluoride and water.
Brendan Schaub (3:36)
I feel like-
Joe Rogan (3:36)
They must have some documentation.
Bryan Callen (3:38)
70 years of scientific research.
Brendan Schaub (3:39)
God, you guys are lucky Eddie's not here.
Joe Rogan (3:41)
Oh, yeah, thank God right now.
He's on an evolution kick now. More than 70 years of scientific research has consistently shown that an optimal level of fluoride in community water is safe and effective in preventing tooth decay. Safe is a scary word.
