Hello, everybody, welcome to the Rotoworld Football Show. It's Tuesday, September 1st. Oh my goodness, 2026 I'm Patrick Daugherty joined by Denny Carter. The rosters are set. Week one is closing in, even though it's the latest week one in the history of the sport.

**Chris Harris** (0:31)
It is, really is.

**Patrick Daugherty** (0:32)
Storylines are converging. We finally have clarity in the Green Bay Packers offense, what's going on in the backfield, what might be going on with the passing game. We have the release heard around the world. Jaden Blue, the best player to ever be cut. Didn't even go get claimed in waivers, Denny. We'll break that down from every angle. We'll break down slightly more relevant players, Jeremiyah Love, Ashton Jeanty, their health situations. What's going on in the Seahawks backfield, if we're going to get a quote, heavy dose of George Helani, Luther Byrd in his healthy Denny Carter, and then our friend, the host of the Harris Football Show, the proprietor of Harris Football, Chris Harris is going to join us. He has a new book coming out. And he has some flag plant players. He's been podcasting all of August and September. So really good stuff when we come right back after this.
Denny, we're back and we wouldn't be back if we weren't here to talk about the latest brain genius move by Rams mastermind Sean McBey.
I do think Sean McBey is the best coach since Bill Belichick. I think he's far and away the best coach in the NFL right now, Denny Carter. I also think he likes to think a lot.

**Denny Carter** (1:39)
He does.

**Patrick Daugherty** (1:39)
And boy, I think to me, OK, Denny, when I say what's the most infamously difficult place to fly to in the world? I think like seven or eight out of ten people would say Australia.

**Denny Carter** (1:51)
You're right. The moon. And then Australia would be second.

**Patrick Daugherty** (1:55)
One or two might say like Fiji. Like a kid might try to gotcha. Like what about Antarctica? Some of the places people actually go, right?
Stop trying to get me on technicalities all the time. All right. I know you just read about it in your little book. All right. Don't say Antarctica. I've been talking to my actual son.
Australia, very difficult to fly to Denny. The jet lag, somewhat legendary, some might say. Sean McVeigh said, we don't care. We ain't reading all that. We're getting there 24 hours for a week. One game against the 49ers who are getting there a week before.

**Denny Carter** (2:26)
Yeah.

**Patrick Daugherty** (2:27)
The 49ers, they're making a trip of it. They're making an afternoon of it.

**Denny Carter** (2:30)
A vacation. It's nice.

**Patrick Daugherty** (2:31)
Yeah. Which you should do. You're getting to go to Australia for your job, maybe have a little fun. They're not doing that. They're getting there 24 hours before. Do you think this is a good idea? What might result from trying to make a weekend of a trip to Australia? I've never heard of such a thing for an American traveling.

**Denny Carter** (2:51)
Yeah.
Here's what I'll say. I know for a fact that Sean McVeigh and Les Snead and probably 25 other people inside the Rams building, put a lot of time and effort into figuring out the optimal way to do this.

**Patrick Daugherty** (3:06)
They all asked 25 different chatbots.

**Denny Carter** (3:10)
Yeah. That's what it comes down to. All the chatbots said the same thing. You want to get there and play and get out.
I promise you this has nothing to do with wanting to be different or weird. This is the optimized version of what it is to play an NFL regular season game in Australia, and that's what the Rams are doing, and there might be something to it. We don't know.

**Patrick Daugherty** (3:34)
No, there's not something to it. There's not anything to it. It's a transparently bad idea.

**Denny Carter** (3:41)
I bet you that they have sleep schedules built into the plane ride.

**Patrick Daugherty** (3:47)
They're going to try to stay on Pacific Time, is what they're clearly going to do.

**Denny Carter** (3:51)
Right, but what I'm saying is they're not just going to get there and be like, good luck, guys, we'll see you at kickoff.
These guys down to Matthew Stafford, who's been in the league for 100 years, are going to be micromanaged to within an inch of their lives on this trip because this game is huge, first game ever in Australia for the NFL. They're playing Kyle Shanahan. You know that the feud runs deep between McFay and Shanahan. So I think they know what they're doing.
