And I don't want to find out what's behind Door Number 2 with Mike Tyson. You know what I'm saying? You take what he gives you.

Josh Brolin (1:52)

Hey man, thanks for having me on your show.

Theo Von (1:55)

Dude, thank you for being here, man.

Josh Brolin (1:56)

Seriously, it's nice to see you.

Theo Von (1:58)

You too, bro. It's a pleasure, bro.

Yeah, and I don't know if I can say this and I can take this part out. It's nice to talk to another alcoholic.

Josh Brolin (2:07)

Totally.

Theo Von (2:08)

Is that OK to say? Yeah.

Josh Brolin (2:09)

I think everybody knows it by now.

Theo Von (2:11)

OK.

Josh Brolin (2:12)

I don't know if everybody knows it with you. They definitely know it with me. I don't really talk about AA, but I talk about sobriety a lot.

Theo Von (2:17)

OK. Are you sure that's OK if I said that?

Josh Brolin (2:20)

Fuck yeah.

Theo Von (2:21)

Because God, dude, yeah, sometimes it's OK. If you see somebody else that's, you know, I don't know, it just feels like something's a little different.

Josh Brolin (2:28)

Yeah, it is. And you're out there now. You know, it's funny, I was thinking, I'll tell you the story really quick. Celsius, I guess, is your company or not your company, but you're sponsored by them or whatever, Liquid Death.

Theo Von (2:40)

Yeah.

Josh Brolin (2:41)

So Liquid Death, I have like a little tiny steak in or whatever, and the whole reason why Liquid Death did so well, because if you look at the cans, they look like 40s, right?

And people are drinking less and less, like whether they're getting sober or not is kind of beside the point, but they're drinking, kids are drinking less and less. So they go to these concerts and they'd have these cans and the kids started drinking these cans that are full of water, and it made them feel like they weren't ousted, that they weren't going to be judged because they weren't drinking because they had a can in their hand that looked like they were having a beer.

Theo Von (3:14)

Oh, yeah, you're still in the group. When that metal hits your lips.

Josh Brolin (3:17)

Seriously, man, right?

Theo Von (3:18)

Yeah, there's a little bit of-

Josh Brolin (3:19)

And when you hear that, it's great.

Theo Von (3:21)

Yeah, you almost like-

Josh Brolin (3:23)

And even as a sober guy, like, I'm cool with that. I like that sound. I want that sound to continue in my life. I just don't want the fucking drunk with it.

Theo Von (3:31)

Right. Oh, dude, sometimes I would lay in bed and just open cans of that over and over again. Out of like seven cans.

Josh Brolin (3:38)

After you got sober?

Theo Von (3:39)

Yeah.

Josh Brolin (3:40)

That just is remembrance, remembrance of things past. What did you do tonight?

Yeah. It's nice to be sober, man. And it's nice to know a sober buddy. And there's something else we saw each other outside and we didn't talk, but I think that was the first thing that popped in both of our minds.

Theo Von (4:00)

Yeah. And it kind of like, it gives me a little bit of an exhale because honestly, dude, it just feels like so much less pressure for some reason.
