Music is meditation for me. Water, nature is meditation for me. So anything that's got a natural vibe, I like to do grounding energy.
So it's not just the, I'm going to sit and do deep breaths type of vibe, but I do it in various different ways. Prayer is meditation for me.

John, I want to start by you explaining to us why someone would come and see you.

**John Edward** (2:07)
So people who actually seek me out for different reasons. I think the majority of people that seek me out now seek me out because they want to know about their loved ones and friends who've crossed over. That's the mediumship part of my job. But the psychic part of my job is where I talk about what's happening now in your life and what's coming up for you. And if ever I'm doing a private reading for somebody, I always look at the why now, why today at the intersection of you, me and the universe, is this conversation taking place.
And I look for the nugget or the theme, not so much the prediction slash projection of what's coming up for them, but for the spiritual understanding of the why, as well as then whoever's going to come through.

And obviously the types of people that come to you or come to your shows, you know, on the level that you do it, it's a huge audience. You're getting a community of people that is very much grieving, right? Because they are seeking to connect with their loved ones.
How has that journey been for you? Because that can be a sad part of, you know, life. Probably the saddest.

**John Edward** (3:12)
The reality of that is very daunting. Yeah. So I've had to navigate that from the early days of my, like, origin story. You know, there was always a lot of people that wanted to see me privately, and I had limited amount of time to be able to actually see people on a private reading basis. So I had to come up with a system of how would I be able to actually see the people that wanted to see me. So I would open up my phone lines once a month. It was like the first Wednesday of the month between 7 and 9 p.m. And whoever got through would get an appointment for the next month.
And it was my way of keeping it universally fair because if they got through, then they were meant to get through.
When I started doing the television show, I didn't stop doing the monthly call thing. At one point, my waiting list was eight years long. Like legitimately. Not to say it was eight years, but estimated on how I would read clients, four or five people a day, like X amount of days a week. It was eight years long. And I stopped taking names. I stopped having an appointment list, like a waiting list. And I went through the entirety of that list when the show stopped. And a lot of the people that were on the list, some of them had passed. That's all they were on the list for. And their family members would have taken that.
