**Chris Williamson** (0:00)
Did you guys ever consider a career in the military?
**Jocko Willink** (0:03)
I remember, I was in graduate school, and I would get the reserve emails, and I really thought, I was like, damn, Tony Grant right now.
I was like, I remember my wife's like, dude, anyone I talked to is like, you're going to hate it. You can't just go away. I'm like, it's just the weekends. And they're like, yeah, every weekend for like what? Four years? And I was like on the brink, and then they're like, dude, and I was like, yeah, I'm not doing that.
**Jeff Dye** (0:25)
I've never considered it ever, ever, not even once.
**Chris Williamson** (0:28)
You could have done a career in comedy. I don't know, this could have been a, we could have found out that everyone's original life plans had crossed over.
**Jeff Dye** (0:33)
I wish I would have done it. I could have used some structure, some discipline, some older male influence. I could have used some, everything that the military teaches, I think I needed and would have been great. But because nobody was giving me the discipline to go, hey, you should go do that. I didn't do it.
**Jocko Willink** (0:50)
Yeah.
**Chris Williamson** (0:50)
You didn't even have the discipline to start becoming disciplined.
**Jeff Dye** (0:53)
Yeah. When you grow up like me, dude, on the mean streets, you know, it's either gang life or basketball. And I chose, no, that's not real.
**Jocko Willink** (1:02)
I remember, do you know what it was? I remember they repealed Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and I was like, all right, I can't join you.
**Chris Williamson** (1:07)
What's that?
**Jocko Willink** (1:07)
It was if you're gay. You're not supposed to ask someone if they're gay.
Now I think you're like allowed to ask. I don't know. What even happened with that?
**Jeff Dye** (1:14)
I think I should ask for their papers.
**Jocko Willink** (1:15)
This is your area of expertise, Chuck. There was a time where-
**Jeff Dye** (1:19)
Are you a gay citizen?
**Jocko Willink** (1:21)
Yeah.
If you were gay in the military, you couldn't say anything. So they weren't allowed to ask you, but you weren't allowed to tell anyone.
**Jeff Dye** (1:28)
But could you fuck, Jocko?
**Jocko Willink** (1:31)
Who cares about telling people you're gay? I know that's all these college kids do. I'm pretty sure you could. Yeah. A thousand guys in a boat. But I can't confirm that myself personally.
**Jeff Dye** (1:39)
You just put in your earplugs in the bunks like these guys.
**Jocko Willink** (1:42)
Just statistically, if you have a thousand guys in one boat, that's going to happen.
**Jocko Willink** (1:45)
It's part of my crew. Yeah, it's one of those guys.
**Jeff Dye** (1:49)
You just got to be first, you know, and if they're going to get me.
**Jocko Willink** (1:51)
Well, I mean, it doesn't have to be like that, man.
**Jocko Willink** (1:53)
Oh, I didn't know.
**Jeff Dye** (1:54)
Goddamn.
**Jocko Willink** (1:55)
Man, I didn't know where we're headed.
**Chris Williamson** (1:56)
Is there a height limit in the SEALs? I have to, like, if someone's taller, right? Like, you only what, six, four, yeah. Yeah, you get like six, six, six, seven. There's just more of you to hit.
**Jocko Willink** (2:05)
I don't think there's a height limit because there's a guy that I think is six, seven or six, eight, something like that.
**Jeff Dye** (2:11)
What's the shortest guy in the SEALs? I know no woman has ever cracked it.
**Jocko Willink** (2:15)
I want to say five, three.
**Jeff Dye** (2:16)
Oh, yeah, that's a bad dude, though. Five, three and still did it. No women, do you guys know that?
**Jocko Willink** (2:21)
In the SEALs?
**Jeff Dye** (2:22)
There's never been a woman near the SEALs. Yeah, that says you, dude.
**Chris Williamson** (2:26)
What is that French WNBA player?
**Jeff Dye** (2:29)
She wouldn't make it.
**Chris Williamson** (2:30)
That's what the current trans- have you seen this guy, girl?
**Jeff Dye** (2:34)
She's going viral all week. She's having a good week. She's probably real happy about all this WNBA kerfuffle.
**Chris Williamson** (2:39)
Yeah. Do you know the story? Can you explain?
**Jeff Dye** (2:41)
Every video has popped up. There's just a trans, it's a biological male that transitioned into a woman who's playing in a professional women's basketball league in France. And because the Sophie Cunningham and all the issues in the last few weeks with the XX, XY kind of campaign drumming up all this trans talk, they're like, well, let this lady play. Draft her over there and watch how inclusive they'll be. But everybody's just showing videos of this like muscular. I mean, she's jacked. Really? She's almost like a guy.
