This one is for you, Big Mac.
It's just the Yankees. Thank you to our song maker, B&E, appreciate him as always. By the way, quick question for you.
Chris McMonigle (2:34)
We've got a full five minutes song, the first 30 seconds. That's what we do. I'm very impressed with the quality.
Craig Carton (2:38)
Thank you very much.
Chris McMonigle (2:39)
The songs are actually really good.
Craig Carton (2:40)
A dear friend of mine is singing the lead there.
Chris McMonigle (2:42)
Yeah, I'm sure it is. The songs are really good. I'm shocked with how good they sound.
Craig Carton (2:45)
We have a professional song maker that's on staff.
Chris McMonigle (2:48)
That's a legit song.
Craig Carton (2:49)
Yeah, he goes by the name of Dr. B and E.
Chris McMonigle (2:52)
One verse too many, but besides that, very good.
Craig Carton (2:54)
Meanwhile, a quick question for you. How come nobody's getting on Spencer Jones for not making a play against the wall?
Chris McMonigle (3:00)
Yeah.
SPEAKER_3 (3:01)
Right? Yeah.
Craig Carton (3:03)
That ball is catchable, in my humble opinion.
Chris McMonigle (3:05)
It certainly is.
Craig Carton (3:06)
Yeah, the ball is absolutely catchable.
SPEAKER_3 (3:08)
Yep, right?
Chris McMonigle (3:09)
If any judge is healthy, that's probably a catch he makes.
He's a better outfielder. But again, they don't make the play.
Craig Carton (3:18)
They do not make the play. Here's Jerry in New Haven out of the fan. Abit, Jerry, what's good, Cookie?
SPEAKER_3 (3:25)
How are you doing, guys?
Chris McMonigle (3:26)
What's up?
SPEAKER_3 (3:26)
Long time. I wanted to bring up a few points that I noticed during the series. And first of all, I didn't see a whole lot of emotion in the clubhouse during the game.
Jazz Chisholm (3:38)
Oh, they were losing or tied.
Craig Carton (3:40)
What did you want them to do?
Chris McMonigle (3:41)
And they were in the, they were the Dugout, not the clubhouse.
SPEAKER_3 (3:44)
Yeah, here's my point. I played Division 1 college baseball.
I coached high school and I didn't see anybody on the fence during most of the game until Volpe hit the, you know, almost.
Craig Carton (3:59)
So your criticism is that the guys are stoic, not into it, not enough high energy, not what?
SPEAKER_3 (4:06)
What are we getting at? Yeah, I'm getting at the fact that if you look at the Rays Dugout, all those guys were on the fence.
Craig Carton (4:15)
Because they had the lead in every single game. Yeah, I don't know. Like, I think there's something to it from here and there, but if the idea is, well, you know, the Yankees have a problem because, you know, the 24 guys on the bench, when the guys haven't played aren't sitting up at the top rail like cheerleaders.
Chris McMonigle (4:32)
I didn't watch the game. I was at the stadium. I watched it. They're on top of the.
Craig Carton (4:36)
They're there, okay? Yeah, they are there.
Chris McMonigle (4:38)
But what was there to cheer about? I just saw the highlight of the Mesa home run.
Craig Carton (4:43)
Yes.
Chris McMonigle (4:44)
Like, judge is on the fence. Like, they're all on the.
Craig Carton (4:48)
And by the way, these are. This isn't a junior high school girls volleyball game. Yeah. Where it's side up and rotate. Our team is really great. You go, Candy. Are you? It's not like these are men. These are adult men. They make a lot of money playing professional sports. And by the way, if you hit the ball, if you score runs, if you take the lead ever, which they didn't do for a single inning in this particular series, guess what you're going to see?
High five and smiles, happiness, right?
They never once, even for a minute, had a lead in this series. And oh, by the way, in game one, when you essentially get no hit, what do you want the guys to do? Cartwheels for you?
Chris McMonigle (5:31)
No, I know. Jeff Frankor spoke to this with us.
He's like, there's nothing you could do. When you don't hit, you're going to look lifeless. Correct.
Craig Carton (5:40)
He was right.
Chris McMonigle (5:41)
When you don't hit, you look lifeless.
Craig Carton (5:42)
Because you are lifeless.
Chris McMonigle (5:43)
Yeah, I don't.
Craig Carton (5:44)
And the building becomes lifeless.
Chris McMonigle (5:45)
I don't put too much into nobody in the dugout was excited or happy.
Craig Carton (5:49)
I want to play some audio for you. This is Jazz Chisholm after the game. Obviously, Jazz Chisholm kind of became the focus of a lot of the Yankee fans, I understandably so. Absolutely. He's also played his last game as a Yankee.
