Jaylen Waddle's Message to Broncos Country, LATEST Injury News, Bo Nix & More | Inside Practice

The Broncos were back for the final week of preseason on Monday on the practice field, and we've learned a lot. Some good news, some concerning news, and some fun news. Let's dive into it. And let's start with the good news. Two players were full participants today for the first time in a long time, and there are two important players on the offensive side of the ball. Marvin Mims was a full participant. Great to see him out there. Even saw him make some impressive catches. And then on the offensive line, Broncos got center Luke Wattenberg back in a full way. This is huge for Luke Wattenberg and the Broncos offensive line. He's missed a couple of weeks now. Now he is officially back. So really good to see that. And of course, Sean Payton, when he talked about injury, said we've got all our eyes on week one, Kansas City, and that's what it should be. So the Broncos are moving these guys in the right direction with just enough time to be there. Now there are some guys to keep an eye out on though. Riley Moss did not practice. He suffered that rib injury on the second play into the game after he had a fantastic pass breakup on the first one. And then he actually got the fumble recovery where he got the rib injury. And then it was called back because they said that the receiver was down before Pat Surtain forced the fumble. So he did not practice, but he was at practice today. It's a good sign after practice. Sean Payton said Riley Moss' injury is not serious and the Broncos are just being smart with him. So really good. We're 21 days away from Broncos going into Kansas City to play the Chiefs and the Broncos need number 21 out there. So I wouldn't expect him to do much this week, but that's okay as long as he's good. And three weeks, RJ Harvey, this was a new one. He practiced on the side field for part of practice. Now he wasn't, did not practice because he did participate, but it's just interesting to keep your eye on RJ Harvey throughout the remainder of this week and just see what his status is. Another guy that did not practice, Frank Crum, did not see him on the practice field at all. Something happened in that game on Friday. Sean Payton said that Frank Crum is doing good, so that's encouraging. And again, not really worried about this final preseason game, just getting him ready for week one as he's going to be a key backup on that Broncos offensive line. A couple of guys that did not practice and their status did not change, Drew Sanders and Alex Forsyth did not practice, they were both on the side field as well. And one guy that took an encouraging step, Caleb Lohner, did not practice, but for the first time, I saw him on the side field during practice, not wearing a boot or anything. So this is a positive step for the young, talented tight end that the Broncos got in the seventh round last year. So hopefully we continue to see him progress after he suffered an injury in the off season earlier. Now let's move on to some of the things we learned today and some of the fun things that we learned.
Let's talk about the cue. Let's talk about Bo Nix because Sean Payton, Alex Singleton and Jaylen Waddle all had great things to say about Bo Nix. Sean Payton was pleased with Bo's performance in the preseason game. He went six for nine, touchdown, no interception, 129.9, passed the rating. And it seems like Sean Payton said that the film backed up those stats as well. Said he moved around really well and handled the operation well as well. And the operation between him and Davis Webb was, quote, smooth and clean, according to Sean Payton. So that's really good that the play caller, that was their first time ever being in the game where Davis was calling plays to Bo and it went well. That's good. There was only one thing that Sean pointed to that could have been cleaned up and he actually said it in a complimentary way. The only thing was that he rushed through one progression. And we know that that's one of the things that the Broncos have been working with Bo with is just to make sure that he doesn't go too fast through progressions. And Sean said that only happened once. So it's actually a complimentary thing to Bo there.
