Adam Carolla (1:57)

God, it's kind of weird because I feel like I've known you for so long.

SPEAKER_5 (2:01)

Yeah.

Adam Carolla (2:01)

Because you've been on TV and a part of everyone's life for so long. The new series, well, it's out on CW, Private Eye West Coast. It's, I don't know, do people, can you stream it as well? I guess you can go online and do it that way as well. Yeah, you can stream it.

Jason Priestley (2:17)

It's on the CW and then it's on the CW app the next day. You can watch it.

Adam Carolla (2:22)

Fun. Just watched the trailer. Lots of action, lots of comedy. Got kind of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, I guess, as I think about it, that Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie kind of vibe, like comedy and action put together.

Jason Priestley (2:35)

Very much so. Yeah, we definitely lean into the comedy a little bit more in this version of the show.

Adam Carolla (2:40)

So you start off in Canada, right? You do tons of TV. I mean, I think we're looking back on some of the credits, but like Airwolf and that kind of stuff.

Jason Priestley (2:52)

MacGyver, all the old stuff.

Adam Carolla (2:54)

Were you a child actor then?

Jason Priestley (2:56)

I was, yeah. Yeah, when I did those shows, I was probably 15, 16 years old.

But I'd started well before that. I was making CBC TV movies back in the 70s.

Adam Carolla (3:10)

So you start, do you have an acting family? Are they arts or showbiz related?

Jason Priestley (3:16)

Well, my mom was a dancer and a singer and a choreographer and all that stuff. So when I told her that I wanted to be one of the people who lived inside the TV, she had an agent that she could take me and introduce me to.

Adam Carolla (3:29)

And I mean, 90210 was kind of phenomenon. It was a definite phenomenon. And it was back when, if you were a part of something like that, everyone knew who you were. Those days are gone.

Jason Priestley (3:43)

Yeah.

Adam Carolla (3:44)

It's mainly because there's just too many projects and too many outlets and too many streamers and nobody could possibly keep up with everyone who's on TV.

But that was about, I shouldn't say the end, but it was getting to the end of you knew everyone who was on TV. Like there was the guys from Chips, the guys from Duke's a Hazard. There was Gilligan's Island, Brady Bunch, Partridge Family. You knew every single, I knew every single person that was on television. And then at some point, you got right to the sort of end of that point when, and all of a sudden, you got MTV and all the VH1s and all. Now you got lots of other people showing up. But you were as recognizable as somebody could be in 1995
