In this episode we’ll talk about: how our prayers are always being answered, why “no’s” are also prayers working in our favor, why our purpose is bigger than we think, why it’s harder to think bigger in a physical world, letting go of who we think we are to be who we really areAnd more… START...

Welcome to The Niche Is You. My name is Matt Gottesman, at Matt Gottesman on Instagram, and this is my daily podcast where I create short, quick hitting episodes to help you uncomplicate life, creativity, and the pursuit of your highest self. There's only main character energy here. Now let's get into it.
Welcome to episode 891, and this is a relaunch of the episode, It's Bigger Than You Think God Will Provide. That's right, I'm gonna do a few more relaunches because quite a few people actually really enjoyed them and wanted to hear a few more, so I hand selected a few that I thought were perfect, and this is one of them. It's Bigger Than You Think God Will Provide. I mean, we talk about this online all the time. You see my Now Bigger posts, and it's because there's always more going on than we can ever possibly understand. So how do we look at that? How do we see that our prayers are always being answered in some way, even when we think that they're not? So enjoy this episode. It's Bigger Than You Think God Will Provide.
Welcome to episode 496 It's Bigger Than You Think God Will Provide. And I wanted to have, I actually wanted to revisit a story from a book by Rabbi Noah Weinberg, What the Angel Taught You. And it was talking about prayer and how often what we want.
And in fact, like, what's for us is actually even way bigger than what we want, right? I should probably preface it that way. What, you know, what's for us is way bigger than what we want. And, you know, in our human capacity, we often, we have a whole other set of, a whole other set of ideas about how we should obtain that, right? How it should look, our expectations, the timing, you know, what we think we want right now, all these things, right? And rightfully so, we're living in this world trying to make a life happen. And one of the things that has really helped me over the years is understanding timing and alignment and how they're always working in our favor. And that instead of trying to dictate exactly how it should look, I should have this balance between seeing the vision and being pleasantly surprised, right? Because otherwise, we start to create all these kinds of expectations about how an outcome should be.
And then if it's not even, here's the funny thing, we even can get outcomes better than what we had hoped for. But because we were so stuck on how it had to look, we almost forget that it was even better. Has it ever happened to you? Have you ever gotten something even way better than it could have been? And you know, but because you were so stuck in like, well, no, it had to be at this time of day and for this type of thing. And it literally took somebody to remind you, like, you realize that you got more money, more the bigger thing, the bigger that, that like all these other blessings, we can technically block ourselves if we're not careful. And so, you know, I did a post the other day where I said, no, bigger, God will provide. And I revisited this book, What the Angel Taught You. It is in the recommended reading list. And I want to read some of the passage and break down some of what Weinberg was saying about prayer. And this is on page 63 The chapter is called Prayer. So it starts off, it is hard to imagine something more wholesome than a child's prayer. And so the story is told of a young girl, perhaps 10 years old, who was seen praying intently at the synagogue one Saturday. Services were winding down and the assembled began their exit from the sanctuary. But this young maiden lingered on, swaying, praying, and beseeching the Almighty for mercy of some kind. A gentleman caught a glimpse of this most unusual display of sincerity and passion and decided to inquire as to her plea and purpose. It was a good 10 minutes before the young lady finally emerged.
Pardon me, he began. I couldn't help notice how beautifully you were praying. Do you mind if I ask what it was you were praying for so strongly? Well, I'm a little embarrassed that you saw me. But my birthday is coming up this week. Her eyes widened as she spoke. I could use a new bike. Oh, I see. I'm sorry to embarrass you, but I do wish you a happy birthday and lots of luck. The gentleman and the girl parted ways, but bumped into each other on the street about two weeks later. Hey, so the man, aren't you the birthday girl I met a couple weeks ago? Yes, I remember you, she said. Tell me, he continued, were your prayers answered? As a matter of fact, they were, she told him. How wonderful, proclaimed the man, are you enjoying your brand new bike? Well, I didn't actually get a new bike, she admitted. What? I thought you said your prayers were answered. They were, said the girl. The answer was no.
