Hey, Macrodosing listeners, you can find us every Tuesday and Thursday on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad-free on Amazon Music. That is crazy that you jinxed Mike Evans today.
**Arian Foster** (0:12)
I didn't jinx it.
**Big T** (0:13)
Everyone's talking about it.
**Arian Foster** (0:14)
You are not ascribing the power, like in a world where it's me on one hand and the substation on the other, I am an ant, I am powerless, I am irrelevant. The substation is insatiable.
**Big T** (0:27)
These guys are feeding off each other.
**Arian Foster** (0:28)
No, it's a gaping maw of insatiable hunger, and all it feeds on are Niners' tears and injury reports.
**Big T** (0:35)
Yeah, it is big.

Okay, we are on nano-dosing right now.
We got T-Bob. T-Bob's in here.
**T-Bob** (2:09)
What's up, y'all?
**PFT Commenter** (2:10)
What's up, T-Bob? You're wearing the chess t-shirt, or the chess almost like Hawaiian button-down Hawaiian-ish shirt.
**T-Bob** (2:18)
Yeah, you know.
**Big T** (2:19)
I guess just patterned shirt. I love chess.
**PFT Commenter** (2:21)
I've got a dog brain where it's like any shirt that I see that has buttons and a pattern. I'm like, oh, it's a Hawaiian shirt.
**Arian Foster** (2:26)
It has a Hawaiian vibe.
**Big T** (2:28)
Yeah.
**Arian Foster** (2:28)
It kind of has a Hawaiian fit, like a Tommy Bahama. It's like a dad fit. It's like a dad shirt covered in chess pieces. And trust me when I say PFT, I could not be more excited that you're getting back into the chess world.
**PFT Commenter** (2:40)
Yeah, we've been working a lot. I'm getting frustrated with it, though, because I know that I think I'm better than what my rating is. I also think a lot of people probably say that. I think that's probably a very common complaint people have.
I just I run out of time. I take too long to make my moves. And if you're playing against, like, if you're in five-minute speed chess, you play with people that sometimes they just make the moves just to use the clock as a weapon. And then, you know, you can end up beating them, and then you end up losing in the end, and then you lose points on your rating.
**Arian Foster** (3:09)
Yeah, it's actually a tribute. And like everything in chess, I think it's a pretty awesome game design, where it forces you into the push-pull of like, okay, I need to know when I need to take time, the most critical point in the game to like find the right move. Yeah. But I can't do that every time, because then even if I'm dominating, I lose. I think it's the most perfect game that's ever been made. I'm absolutely in love with it. And as far as the rating thing goes, it has made me accept that you are what your number is, fully and wholly. I was looking up yesterday on the train.
And so I only play five minute blitz chess. I've been addicted since Queen's Gambit came out. And I've played like 4,500 games.
**PFT Commenter** (3:52)
Yeah.
**Arian Foster** (3:53)
And I'm plus 30 in the win column.
**Big T** (3:55)
Okay. So, I mean, it's just about exactly.
**Arian Foster** (3:58)
It is a sport or whatever. It's a game that, yes, because of how good the matchmaking is, you will be basically 50% over time. But I'm almost at 1,000. If I get 1,005 minutes blitz, it's been my goal for years.
