Yeah, I would argue those two. And if you forget how that started last year, this is how it started last year. Essentially, you did the same thing just in a different order. You started three and two, and then the wheels fell off the wagon. You just won the first three, and you beat Baylor, you beat two cupcakes, and then the losing started. So, when you look at this year's schedule, right, it's the same thing. You just broke it up, right, because you're on a nine-game SEC schedule now, so you didn't get another cupcake here, but you won three and lost two.

So, you're in the exact same position you were last year after five games. It's just, I'm gonna go back to this, that four-game losing streak is what really did them in.

So, we were so close. One score losses. One score losses, all of them, except for Georgia, 20 to 10 This was undoubtedly a more talented team last year than this year's team. I don't care what you didn't upgrade in a lot of places. So, moving down the comments here, Chris Ackles with the 499 Super Chat. OC said, the game is too fast for Brown. Then how that's going to help us the rest of the season. This is referring to a comment that Joel Gordon made about things being faster in the SEC versus the American. I did not like this comment. This sounds like you're saying he's without trying to say it, that he's not an SEC level quarterback.

Should they stop putting Joel Gordon in front of the media?

SPEAKER_3 (2:22)

That's something you can get away with saying during the first like couple spring interviews and saying it in a way that says we're going to get him up to that speed level. But we are six weeks into the year, five games into the season.

Mike G (2:42)

It's a crazy thing to say.

SPEAKER_3 (2:47)

That is the quickest way to kill any and all confidence you've hopefully instilled in him during the bye week. For him to hear his office coordinator say, well, yeah, he can't.

Mike G (3:01)

That's too fast for him.

Yeah. Robert Dunn says, Erwin Meyers said the QB is responsible for only 50% of the interceptions, the receivers 30 and the blocking 20

Interesting. I mean, this would echo what Gordon said about decision making being some of it, line being some of it. But either way, your QB needs to make good decisions under pressure. Jonathan Boising comes back and says, Mike G, after watching the film, though, Byrum has made the O-line look worse at times. He has had times when he had a pocket and bailed too early and missed open receivers. I think, I don't know which frustrates me more. Bailing too early, sitting in the pocket too long, holding on to the ball too long has been an issue, or missing open receivers. He's had some bad misses. Go back to that last interception versus Tennessee.

Dylan, I wasn't on line. It wasn't on receipt. He just sailed it. That was it. It was already a difficult throw. He just sailed it and it got picked. That was on nobody but Byrum. So I'm not sure about...

SPEAKER_3 (4:14)

I would say the holding on to the ball too early or too long is definitely what I would say would be the most annoying part of it because it's when you're watching the game on television, the camera is on the quarterback the entire time and you're sitting there and mentally you're like, okay, throw it, throw it.

And then I think I've lost my voice for most of the games trying to, trying to telepathically tell Byrum Brown to throw the ball. Whether it's out of bounds or anything, you cannot sit in the pocket for, I would say, three seconds at minimum. Five seconds, you have better done something in that five second span. But just kind of sit there and letting it happen, especially whenever you're an athletic quarterback who can break off sacks and make plays in open space with your legs. It feels like a lot of the times he's being coached not to use his legs. And I know that's something that Golesh mentioned, I think either last week or two weeks ago he was talking about trying to keep him healthy. But when you're what, six, four, 235 pounds, it's going to take a lot of hits to really make you feel like you're getting him hurt by making him run the ball. But I feel like there's more damage being done to his ability to stay healthy if he's having a bunch of 300 pound SEC defensive linemen constantly on his back.
