Your credit card company is hoping you don't hear this. They're charging you 21% APR interest, making it hard to pay down your balance. A home equity loan from Rocket Mortgage could cut your interest rate by more than half. So you could wipe out your high interest credit card debt with the equity you've built in your home without touching your current mortgage rate. See how much you could save at rocketmortgage.com. Rocket Mortgage LLC, licensed in 50 states. And mlsconsumeraccess.org, number 3030 Call 800-4-ROCKET for full program details.

Alrighty, folks, you know we had to have this conversation. We are going to talk about the news article of the day, talking about AI has a 10% chance of killing us all in the next three years.
Obviously, I think this is a bunch of hyperbole, but we should talk about it. But more importantly, I want to step back from this crazy headline grabbing thing and actually have a conversation with Dana, who uses AI regularly and is an advanced user, and really ask, what should we fear and what should we not fear? Because I think once you get the government folks involved, it gets all out of whack. So Dana, I'm sure you saw the headlines. They were all over X and Twitter, and we seem to have gone viral on viral. What say you? Does AI have a chance of killing us all in the next three years?
Dana (1:46)
I definitely do not think it does.
And let me give you some parallels historically, and this is just my own.
You make the argument of the same with guns. When people invented the AK-47, right? You could say the same with nuclear bombs when those were invented and brought to the market. I think there's more good people in the world than there's bad. And there's definitely bad people in the world, but I think there's more good than there's bad. And I think this is an opportunity, and what we need to talk about is the repurposing of jobs. I think security, cyber security, AI security are super hot. You've seen so much money go into cyber security back with just the internet, and viruses on your computer, and people stealing your passports. There's the exact same thing with AI, where the companies that are going to win are the ones that are focused on security. I mean, look at Apple. Apple has done so well. Back when Tim Cook was at Apple, so much of what he spoke about was data protection for consumers wanting to make sure people feel very comfortable with using Apple products. I think you're going to get the same thing. The companies that are going to win are going to be constantly. I mean, you saw Zuckerberg all over Twitter or over X talking about security, and we didn't launch it because of safety and security. I think the companies, whether or not, that's a totally different topic of Zuckerberg and how much he cares about it. But I think the companies that are going to come to light are ones, and the ones that are going to be heavily invested, are ones that do worry about security. And when you think about consumers using products, those that brand themselves as ones that are protecting the consumers, putting these restrictions in place, are going to be the ones that win.
Now, oh, sorry, go for it. Yeah, you probably have a comment on it.
Michael Zuber (3:48)
Yeah, I actually want to go back and ask him. I'm still stuck on this siop of scaring everybody. To me, this feels like COVID, it feels like all these other scary things, right? Which is, we go scare mom and dad, which mom and dad to me is the general public. And then the general public gets afraid, and then other things happen. When I think about what Anthropic and OpenAI did, I think factually, they both want to go public. Now, OpenAI has delayed their IPO supposedly till next year. Anthropic is rumored to be in the final throes of going this year.
When you go public, you obviously have to do an S1, you have to show your financials, you have to get audited. And I think both of these companies are hurting. I think both of these companies are looking for any strategy they can to protect themselves on the leading edge. And this is their strategy. Let's go scare everybody. Let's pull up the ladder. So we're a duopoly. And then we'll get government to protect us. And oh, by the way, I still think OpenAI is begging for a bailout, right? Their CFO, what, a year ago, basically said the government should bail us out. I don't think it's a secret. I think they're saying the shit out loud. I think both companies are evil. And I hope what happens from this is both of them go bankrupt, they go to zero, and we have new LLMs who are customer-focused. And back to the point about them, because now the rumor is OpenAI hacked hugging face. But now, OpenAI just said we had six more suspicious activities. I'm like, you jackasses, stop releasing shitty code.
