Hey, guys, we're here at Origin Seoul. I'm here with Gabriele Vernetti from Stratum V2. He's a maintainer on the project. So, Gabriele, give us a quick update. Where are things at on Stratum V2?

**Gabriele Vernetti** (0:12)
We're at a good stage.
Adoption is finally growing. We've been waiting for this moment for quite a long time, actually. I'm working on the project since 2023 So it's been three years of hard work internally, especially.

**Stephan Livera** (0:28)
And where would you say most of your work is on the software of it, or what's your main focus?

**Gabriele Vernetti** (0:33)
Yeah, I mean, I'm one of the maintainers, so my main focus is on reviewing PRs and defining milestones and dealing with the new releases monthly that we do.
But yeah, especially in the last year, let's say, I've been focusing a lot on improving the user experience of running the SV2 stack. So yeah, I want to clearly this out, that I'm one of the maintainers of SRI, which is the reference implementation. So we are the open source project, the open source reference implementation of Stratum V2. And recently, yeah, we've been working a lot on a new project which is called SV2 UI.
So now you can just go on Umber Store for example, and you can tick and download the application that we built. So we have a new user interface and everything is like embedded, all the complexity, you know, for example, the Translator Proxy to allow SV1 theorem machines to communicate with an SV2 pool. It's everything embedded and the user doesn't know anything about it, of course. So it's very UX wise improvements that we made. And then since January, we started the Working Group Initiative, which is an initiative where we brought all the major pool and mining companies in the world involved. So now...

**Stephan Livera** (1:59)
It's actually a decent share of the hash rate, right? Like it's a... If you think about the mining pools who have signed up to be part of your working group, it's actually like 70% or 75%, something like that.

**Gabriele Vernetti** (2:09)
Yeah, something like that. It's actually something more than that, probably. We got Ant Pool, we got F2 Pool, we got Spider Pool, we got Foundry.
Who else? We have DMand, DMD, of course, which my name is on the first block.

**Stephan Livera** (2:23)
So listeners can check out my interview with Alejandro where we spoke about that.

**Gabriele Vernetti** (2:26)
Yeah, absolutely. Then we got Brains.
Since the beginning, they were supporting SV2, of course. Yeah. Then on the mining side, we have Marathon as well. They're involved as well. And now recently, two new companies joined Manpool.Space. They are trying to help us and help all the other group members to standardize a new format, let's say, with regards to how the pool signatures and the miner signature, in the case the miner is built in the block template, of course, are displayed on Manpool.Space. So if you go check the new block from DMD, you can see that, in that case, the miner built the block template. And so on Manpool.Space, there's shown their name, so the miner company name.

**Stephan Livera** (3:16)
The underlying miner, not just the pool level.

**Jimmy Kostro** (3:18)
Exactly.

**Gabriele Vernetti** (3:18)
So they show, they put the priority on the miner name, on the miner tag, and then, of course, you can see that the pool was DMD, so they mined on DMD pool. So they joined the working group recently to help accelerate this process of standardization, as well with regards to that. And then 256 Foundation also joined.
They are pushing a lot on their end. We're pretty proud of having them in the working group. And especially, they are working hard on the Mugina firmware, so they are integrating SB2 in the firmware as well. And their intention is to do it also at the server level. So they have Hydra Pool, right? Which is an open source pool that everyone can run.
They're going to implement SB2 there as well.
And so this is going pretty well. We have monthly calls with all the members, and everyone is implementing the protocol internally.

**Stephan Livera** (4:14)
And then when they want to implement, how much of that is they're having to implement things on their own side internally versus things that are just open source anyway?

**Gabriele Vernetti** (4:23)
Yeah. So it depends, of course, on their stack.
Some of them are using directly, for example, the libraries we provided as SRI.

**Stephan Livera** (4:32)
SRI has libraries. Exactly. They use those as part of their own management software.

**Gabriele Vernetti** (4:38)
