Let's jump on for a quick 30, 40 minute recap of NFL opening night, 2026

Shaun Holkko will not be joining us tonight, so Kevin Dent will be taking over as the host. Don't worry, I will make sure to give you all my AJ Brown hate. So that will be coming to you, just because I'm the host doesn't mean I take a step back. But I just want to welcome back Kaz. The Seattle Seahawks beat the Patriots and now back to bad games. We saw the banner come out tonight. We saw the slow start, but Totty, I'm going to give it to you first. What were your overall thoughts on the Seahawks beating the Patriots 13 to 10 on opening night?

Jaevon Totty (2:33)

Well, I mean, you know, first game jitters, a lot going on, banner night, ring night for Seattle, obviously. 12th man was rocking. One of the toughest places to play, obviously, in the NFL.

First five plays, Sam Darnold gets judo flipped on his ankle, hip area, and just comes up limping. Everybody's, the whole stadium is stand still, obviously. Super Bowl winning quarterback is hurt and comes up limping. And all of a sudden, Drew Locke, hey, your time to shine, baby. Kind of reminds me in that scene of Friday Night Lights when Booby Miles gets hurt, and everybody's just like, oh my God, what's going on? I'm not saying that Sam Doran was with Booby Miles, but I mean, this is the quarterback that led you to Super Bowl last year. And all of a sudden, Drew, the year, everyone, every Seattle Seahawk fan's anxiety is in the hands of Drew Locke. And what did Drew Locke do? I thought he relatively managed the game pretty well, got spread the ball out to his playmaker in JSN, who a lot of people thought their fantasy team and or parlays were in the dumps, as Kevin Dent was pretty early on into the game. And then all of a sudden, let's, oh man, hey, JSN is better than most guys out there. Let me just throw the ball to that guy. And that was pretty much their offense. I mean, Drew Locke threw for like 180 something.

JSN had 122 of those yards. So like more than like 70% of Drew Locke's passing yards went to JSN. And he covered his yards, which was six and a half, I believe it was. He had eight catches tonight.

As far as Drake May goes, I think he just put, he's putting the ball in harm's way a lot. Obviously AJ Brown does go down with injury in this game, but I just thought there were a bunch of reads that he made where just, what are you doing? Romeo Dobbs did not help him at all tonight. The memes are starting to come out of him being Dejan Lowe with the big cat one.
