The Knicks Free Agency plans. Ever since he was waived by the Kings, DeMar DeRozan has been linked to the Knicks. Even though the fit is not ideal, many fans want him to join the team. He was asked by SNY, DeMar DeRozan has been linked to the NBA champs, the New York Knicks, in the last two days. What's the latest on the possibility of New York adding him to the roster? And according to Begley, he said the following, The Knicks have to add a third center after losing Ariel Huckporty. DeRozan, obviously a very skilled scorer. I don't think there's anything there, probably on either end. I don't think anything happens there with DeRozan and the Knicks. DeRozan seems to be reportedly interested in joining the Miami Heat. I think the Clippers would be in there, too.
But I don't think the Knicks are on his wishlist. I don't think the Knicks have strong interest in bringing in DeRozan. I think you can put that to bed at the moment. Not only did Ian Begley shut down the DeMar DeRozan reports, he also confirmed that the Knicks are looking to add another center to this team. With Kevon Looney already signing a new contract with the Lakers, there's one other big man on the Knicks list that is left on the board.

The main problem here with overseas teams having an interest in Jonas Valaciunas is the money they could offer him. Because for them, Jonas Valaciunas is a major player that they can add to their team. And if they feel that way, they can throw the bag at him. And if they do that, maybe the New York Knicks cannot match that money. And if they can't match that money, and Valaciunas already has his mind made up that he wants to leave the NBA, New York will not have a chance at adding him to the roster. However, because of the Leon Rose connection, the Knicks just winning the NBA Championship, that could be enough of an incentive to keep Valaciunas in the NBA and make him join the New York Knicks. Now I know, Nick Richards is still out there, and he's still on the board for New York, but if I had to choose between Nick Richards and Jonas Valaciunas, Valaciunas wins each and every time. This man can rebound, he's a big body inside, he can shoot the three ball, he can shoot the mid-range, he can shoot inside the post, and he's a better fit for this Knicks team in terms of what they need right now.
