Speakers: Jackie Craig, Terry Murphy, Bruce Ash, Eb Wilkinson, Jon Post
**Jackie Craig** (0:00)
Hi, I'm Jackie Craig. I'm running as a writing candidate for the Town of Marana Town Council. The way that these three candidates worked with a pack out of California worker power, and they derailed the Downtown Development Project to develop Downtown Marana into a real downtown. We can't have people who have such a misunderstanding of what Marana needs, winning the council race. Fill in the little circle, write my name, Jackie Craig, for the Town of Marana Town Council.

**SPEAKER_2** (0:30)
From the fields of wheat and cotton to the heart of our community, Marana was built on hard work and family values. Jon Post has farmed this land for years, built businesses, and served this community for decades. As mayor, Jon will fight for sustainable growth that respects our roots, keep neighborhoods safe, and make sure Marana remains the best place in Arizona to raise a family.
Jon Post, farmer, father and neighbor.

**Terry Murphy** (1:01)
My name is Terry Murphy, and I am running for Marana Town Council. I have lived in Marana for 31 years. I love our community, and I would like to see more ballparks and equestrian center. I would love to see kids have an opportunity to fish and vote with their families. I think growth is extremely important, and I think that with proper infrastructure and proper layout and proper design, that we can create a community that everybody wants to live in. I am asking for your vote, Terry Murphy, for Marana Town Council.

**SPEAKER_4** (1:31)
For over 36 years, Jon Officer has lived, worked and served right here in Marana. As an Arizona native and your town councilman, Jon brings a lifetime of local experience to the big decision shaping our future. From coaching Eagle Scouts to his decades of work and water maintenance, Jon is the boots on the ground leader we need. He listens to our residents and stands firmly behind our Marana police and fire departments to keep our community safe. Jon Officer is dedicated to protecting our resources and preserving the independent soul of our town. Vote Jon Officer for Marana Town Council.

We're pleased to introduce a remarkable woman, Jackie Craig, who has served on the Marana Town Council and has come back to run again at a critical period in Marana's history. So pleased to meet you.

**Eb Wilkinson** (3:27)
Thank you.

**Bruce Ash** (3:28)
Reading your background, you've had a remarkable career.
You were in the Foreign Service. You helped in a number of different countries, promote the United States and the missions in those areas. We were talking before the show started about your experiences in the most interesting place, Botswana, and maybe the most difficult one in Bangladesh. Talk, before we get into Marana politics, just a few words on your experience as a Foreign Service person and how that translate to your sense of public service here running for Marana Town Council again.

**Jackie Craig** (4:07)
Well, of course, you are representing the United States, so you're always thinking that way.
When you meet the foreign nationals, which you obviously do, with the ambassador would have a reception, for example. I would go and my job was to talk to people, and if I saw anybody standing alone, I was supposed to go up and talk to them. And I'm an introvert, so that's hard work for me. But I did it because that's my duty.
You find that everybody in the entire world has the same desires, right? They want to be safe. They want their family to do well in the future. They want to see their city be vibrant, their economy be vibrant, so that there's lots of options for everybody. So you definitely see that way. You meet a lot of people in the embassy, all different levels, and the embassies that worked best were when everyone worked as a team. So that's a big take away. It's also very similar to the council and staff relationship. The council sets policy and the staff carries it out. In an embassy, the ambassador sets policy, and my job was to carry that out. And I supported the political officers who were out going and talking to the other people in the government.
