Christian, we can do this about once a year. Player Of The Week, Brian Murphy, Markus Boucher, Murph and Markus, how are you doing? Good morning.

Markus Boucher (1:26)

Hey, hey, what's up, Christian?

Christian McCaffrey (1:28)

What's up, fellas? Appreciate you guys having me on.

Brian Murphy (1:30)

Nah, it's great having you, dude. And we were joking earlier, we were saying, yeah, 930, he picked that time because he probably had about a two and a half hour workout this morning. Have you gotten the workout in, Christian? Have you gotten it in?

Christian McCaffrey (1:43)

Not yet. Just a little bit of treatment. That's the next step, though.

Brian Murphy (1:47)

What is the, what do you do on a Tuesday? Because your body is a temple. What's the, what's the off day plan?

Christian McCaffrey (1:56)

You just train from like 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. just nonstop all day. That's the key. Every day, non... I don't know, anytime a coach would ask me that, like, hey, how'd you do? What'd you do this summer? I'm like, I just trained. Like, that's all I did.

But no, today's just about getting your body back, whatever you need. Each week's different, but you kind of have a routine Monday through Saturday of what it looks like. So today, it's a lot of treatment, kind of getting your system back to on, get your nervous system back, and getting ready for Wednesday and Thursday.

Markus Boucher (2:28)

Well, Christian, I am curious about how you do take care of your body year round, because I've heard you tell stories about the way that Ed raised you, or even tell stories about shutting off the Wi-Fi while you sleep at night. So what is the most extreme measure you take to take care of your body?

Christian McCaffrey (2:44)

I don't know, man. I don't know. I don't know why I've been pinned as that guy. I'm not the only one, just so you know, I just get outed by my teammates. But no, I mean, look, you know, football, I've always just wanted to be the very best player I can be, and if there's a slight advantage to take, I'll try to find it. Do all of them work? Probably not. But, you know, I'll try anything if it can give me a little bit of an edge.

Brian Murphy (3:04)

Has being a dad changed any of that?

Christian McCaffrey (3:09)

No, I don't think, you know, it probably changes when you come home, what you do. Obviously, I just, now I just, you know, try to spend time with my wife, with my daughter, and, you know, it's definitely a lot better than it was before, you know, you might watch a movie, whatever. But I don't know, just being able to come home and spend time with them is amazing, man. She's growing up so quick, it's happening so fast, so I try to just save her every moment I can. But now the training and the job part of it is basically the same.

Brian Murphy (3:36)

That's pretty good discipline, because I can tell you, we look at pictures, and when my kids are really young, oh man, my face was bloated. In fact, there's usually dads, you got to eat, you eat the leftovers, all that stuff, and you're got to watch out for the dad bod. You're fending that off.
