You're gonna figure it out In your dreams Good night, Owen Thiele.

Owen Thiele (0:09)

Um, you guys, I have felt so crazy the last few days, the last few weeks. Um, I've been on a, uh, I've been doing press, but I've been on a press tour. Me and Anne Hathaway kind of press touring. Um, no, I've been doing press for adults season two, which has been so much fun. And I'm, I feel so, so, so lucky that people are fucking watching this show. And I love it. So weird to say that I love it, but I do love it. I'm so proud of it. And, um, if you haven't watched it, fuck you.

God, fuck you. No, if you haven't watched it, totally understandable. There's so much media. I totally get it. But if you have watched it, thank you for watching. Tell your friends. Tell your mom. Your mom's not going to like it. Actually, your mom might like it. Actually, your mom might like it. Your dad might hate it. Or if your dad's a little queer, queer adjacent, maybe closet case. He might be into it. Paul Bakers. Hi. Anyways, um, I've had a lot happen to me recently. A lot. What did I do first? Well, I got stuck in Albuquerque. Emergency landed. The plane went down in Albuquerque.

So I don't understand how this blew up. I think Andrew Garfield has like something on his name, where people like get alerts and then it blows up. I didn't realize just how famous he was. Wow. Okay, let me tell the story. Let's back up. So I get on this plane and I'm sitting there.

And I'm looking around and I'm thinking, God, what a great fucking plane.

Ella (1:44)

I literally actually had that thought.

Owen Thiele (1:45)

I go, God, what a gorgeous plane. I'm really looking at it. I'm like, it's all new. I'm like, this is great. We take off. First of all, we taxi for about an hour. So I was delayed, but I was looking around the plane. So honored and happy to be there. Gorgeous new plane. We take off. I put on my headphones and I'm blasting EZA watching it. By the way, hilarious, EZA, Amazon, Andrew Grobby. Okay.

I'm blasting EZA and I'm kind of dozing up. I'm doing this and I'm going, do you know what, you know what that happens?

And suddenly all these flight attendants are walking a lot. And I'm like, this isn't, they're not serving anything. They're just walking, walking. And you could tell with haste, they're walking. And I'm like, oh, and then all of a sudden, I see them all kind of stop around this person. And I turn around and it's Andrew Garfield. So I say to myself, he's a man too, let him be.

Ella (2:37)

So what if he's famous? Let him be.

Poor man.

Owen Thiele (2:42)

I go to take my headphones off to tell the flight attendant, let him be.

And ultimately, that's not what's happening at all. On the loudspeaker, there is a woman screaming, we are emergency landing in Albuquerque. And so I asked the flight attendant what's going on. And she was like, oh, nothing. There's just a little smoke in the back cabin.

And then it turned into like, well, there's a lot of smoke in the back cabin. So the plane was on fire, I think. So we went down. No, we landed safely in Albuquerque. And I got off and I was like, where the hell are we? This is the smallest, cutest airport I've ever been in ever. The man named Kent, gate agent, he was standing there so overwhelmed. He said on the loudspeaker, I've never seen this many people in this airport. I have never seen this many people here.

Ella (3:25)

Please line up, please, please line up.

Owen Thiele (3:28)

I remember getting in line. And then I was first in line, actually. And then he looks at me 20 minutes later after, like, you know, frantically dealing with how many people are in the airport. And he looks up and he goes, why, why is everyone in line? I was like, I don't know, you said get in line. He was like, oh, okay.

God, he's like, I'm overwhelmed.

Ella (3:49)

Like, okay, why are we here?

Owen Thiele (3:51)

Anyways, that's when I make my friends. We go to Dave and Busters. We have a fucking night of our life. I post about it on social media. The next day I wake up to, well, it was a media frenzy.

I would call it a media frenzy.

Everyone was freaking out. I was like, okay, you guys, I always post like this. I'm always posting my emergency landings. No, but I'm always posting things about my life. I'm like, what the hell? Like, why are, why this? Why now? Anyways, I'll take the boost, genuinely. I'll take any fucking boost, fuck. Wait, how fun was it that Lisa came on the pod? Whoa! Sawadee-ka-shee-goo. That's not the melody, but if it was, it would be cool. Yeah, so Albuquerque happened, and then now I might go do a movie in New Zealand, and I'm hoping for adult season 3 Anyways, I have a special guest from Albuquerque that I'm bringing on the pod, because I really just want you to understand the terror and the excitement. Two can be true, both. You can hold both things. You can hold both things. We have Mark Ambor on the podcast.
