At that point, were you an ice cold killer you would have taken anybody if the orders came in?

Sammy Gravano (0:30)

If the orders came in, went out of doubt. No orders came in for me to kill this kid.

Patrick Bet-David (0:37)

So you wouldn't dispute the fact that you were an ice cold killer at that time?

Sammy Gravano (0:41)

Oh, no, no. That's why I confess to everything I did, whether it was a fight, a murder, what part I took. I didn't shoot with the fucking Castellano people either.

I was more of a planner than anything else.

Patrick Bet-David (0:58)

Always?

Sammy Gravano (1:00)

Always. It started years ago before I even got made. Toddo called me in one day, and he said, Sidney, I want to know something, bro. I understand that every time you go in a jewelry store or a store, you're the first guy in, you pull out the gun, everybody get on the fucking ground. Why are you the first guy who does that? I said, because my Goombaad Alley Boy, he's tough as nails, and he's got my back. I'm comfortable with that. He said, you're right. Your Goombaad is tough as nails. He was in another family in the Genovese. He said, but he's reactive. If he sees a cop who don't even know what the fuck is going on, he's walking by, he'll shoot the cop. Won't even hesitate. Am I right?

I said, yeah, probably. He said, you, what the fuck would you do?

I said, I would analyze it. Maybe the cop don't know what's going on. If he's walking nonchalant, if he knew what was going on, he'd have his gun out and I would shoot him. But if he's just walking nonchalant, it happens.

I wouldn't have to shoot him. Everybody keep fucking quiet, whatever. So you would think your way out.

Yes, that's the difference between you and Alley. Let Alley go in, pull the gun, tell everybody to get on the floor and you take his back. You're not reactionary. You'll think, if there's a problem, you will think your way out before you fucking kill people. I know if there's a problem, you'll shoot the guy.

Did you know that mosquitoes have killed almost half of all people who have ever lived? Today people are fighting back. With support from the Gates Foundation, American scientists and partners around the world have developed a new generation of bed nets that can kill up to 90% of mosquitoes exposed to them, helping cut malaria rates in half. The result? A safer, healthier future for everyone. The Gates Foundation, partners of human potential. Search gatesfoundation.org/mosquito to learn more.
