Meet Jordan Welch, a YouTuber with 1.5 million subscribers who leverage his channel to build, grow, and sell multi-million dollar businesses. So I flew to Ibiza to spend 24 hours with him and uncover how he did it and how you can follow his success. So how much did you make this year as someone who sometimes have $90 RPM on his videos?

**Jordan Welch** (0:21)
For the last 365 days, this is how much we did.

**Richard** (0:24)
See, $570,000.
That is crazy. How does it feel to be at this stage?

**Jordan Welch** (0:31)
It feels good, because I really like to do YouTube. It's the thing I've wanted to do since I was a kid. And to be able to do what I love and make money from it has a dream come true.

**Richard** (0:39)
So you're making $570,000 from YouTube. What is the breakdown revenue of everything?

**Jordan Welch** (0:45)
Well, I also have a software company called Viral Vault. This is what I've been promoting on my YouTube channel all the way back since 2018 And this business was bringing in around $100K a month. $150K a month in revenue, give or take. And yeah, I just recently sold this company as well. It was one of the biggest deals I ever did. So that's the main thing that I promoted on YouTube for years now.

**Richard** (1:09)
So I'm a big proponent for creator led businesses, right? You've pretty much showed that in the niche, which was drop shipping, how many subscribers initially did you have when launching your software?

**Jordan Welch** (1:23)
I think I started it back when I had like 25,000 subs, but even when I had less than that, I was always selling some product. Like I first started with a little bit of private coaching, like one-on-one calls and stuff when I had a couple thousand subscribers. So you shouldn't wait until you hit a certain number. Yeah. But do it when it makes sense. It made sense back then because people were asking me for it. A lot of times people coming and telling you exactly what they want. So you just need to listen to them. And viral vault was that as well. A lot of people were telling me they were struggling to find products on building their store. So that's why we built a solution for that.

**Richard** (1:58)
That's interesting because that's the same story for 1of10. Like I was working with you, with a whole bunch of creators, saw the problems. And the biggest problem is ideas, titles, thumbnails, right? So with me, just like 4,000 followers were able to launch it and grow pretty quickly to thousands of users.

**Jordan Welch** (2:15)
Yeah, it's great. I love the app. I use it all the time.

**Richard** (2:17)
So let's go. So from the 570k you made in the last year, what are your costs looking like?

**Jordan Welch** (2:23)
I don't know. It's a better question for my for my accounting team. But, you know, I have a couple of staff. I have my head of production. He gets paid pretty well. I get six figures a year.

**Richard** (2:35)
Nice.

**Jordan Welch** (2:36)
I have an editor, our lead editor. I have a couple contracting people for thumbnails and different VFX and sound design. So on average, we just pay head of production and lead editor every month. And that's not counting the short form side of things.

**Richard** (2:51)
So that's your team.

**Jordan Welch** (2:52)
Yeah, we don't have a huge team like everybody else. We keep it very lean.

**Richard** (2:55)
That's all you need. And I remember you, do you still do your thumbnails now or?

**Jordan Welch** (3:01)
I'm very involved in the whole process of editing and doing the thumbnails. I'm not the type to just send off footage and say, turn this into a video. I like the creation of the product. So I'm very involved in everything from the thumbnails to the ideation to the actual video. So for thumbnails, usually my team will design a couple options, and then I'll come in in Photoshop and make the last changes to the thumbnail.

**Richard** (3:23)
So what's the most you've made in one video?

**Jordan Welch** (3:26)
It's got to be my most viewed video, which is a drop shooting tutorial that I made three years ago. That video, still to this day, is the backbone of my entire AdSense check. And I don't know the exact amount, but we've made a couple hundred thousand dollars from that one video.

**Richard** (3:42)
Let's check it out. Let's see the crazy RPM and the crazy revenue you got from that one video.
