Ambitious Lifestyle Business podcast

June 3, 2026

Craig Jukes spent 37 years in corporate life. Then, on a flight home from a holiday Kefalonia, Craig had one of those moments. Not a "quit your job tomorrow and go and live in a hammock" moment. A PROPER lightbulb moment.

An ambitious lifestyle business is delivering what I want first. It's a really nice, relaxed, enjoyable lifestyle with plenty of sunshine and a business that allows me to be nomadic. If I close my laptop on Friday, I could be flying out on a Saturday and nobody really knows effectively where I'm doing business from and able to take my business with me. It's defining the life first. It's removing the financial pressure.
It gives me the space to think.

Today on the Ambitious Lifestyle Business Podcast, we are joined by one percenter, Craig Jukes. Now, Craig has spent 37 years in the corporate environment. However, he had a bit of a light bulb moment on a flight back from Catalonia one day. And as a result, sold his house, sold his car, sold his caravan, quit his job, and started his ambitious lifestyle business. He is now in a very, very enviable place where he spends several months of the year, every year, outside of the UK.
We began today's episode with me asking Craig exactly what life looks like for him and his family right now.

I'm either very fortunate, very lucky, or everything in between. But at the moment, I have a business that is transportable wherever I go.
So, and that was by design. So, I tend to spend December and January out of the country in the Canaries, and then a couple of months in early spring, so May, June, across in Greece, in Catalonia. And then I get the summer back in the UK. Hopefully, the sun shines a little bit, we can enjoy it.
And then I tend to disappear for maybe one week or two weeks across Spain in September, October, once all the kids have gone back to school, as well as taking some short weekend trips in the UK. So, it was always a desire of mine to travel more, and a business that would allow me to do so. I'm very open with customers about what I'm doing and where I'm going. But to be honest, if I'm sat in Shrewsbury or the Sonnequin areas, there's no drop off in performance or getting what needs to get done. So, when people say you go on a holiday, I just don't use that word. I'm just going, I'm working from a sunnier climate effectively, and able to take my business with me. My wife's retired, and she likes reading books by the pools.
And during that hot point of the day, probably between 11 and 3, I tend to do the laptop work and do whatever conversion I need to, to customers and my suppliers, contractors, et cetera.
But it's really to me, it's enjoying that either side of the day, so that what I call the two bookends of the day. So waking up and having a coffee on the terrace in the morning, overlooking the ocean, doing a bit of work. Once the wife disappears to the pool, and then with the laptop closed at 3 o'clock, I then can enjoy beach walks or go for a zero beer down the harbor. So it's a really nice, relaxed, enjoyable lifestyle with plenty of sunshine and a business that allows me to be nomadic effectively.

See, this is why I wanted to invite you on the podcast today, Craig, because this is the life I want. This is the trajectory I am going. How often do we say, whatever you want to achieve in life, find someone who's done it and find the blueprint. So we found someone who's done it and who is doing it, and absolutely we're going to know you don't know today, Craig, until we've got that blueprint out of you.
But to me, that's so inspiring because to think, as I'm looking at a gray Plymouth May morning now, to think that, yeah, you could be looking at the blue skies of the Canaries or, I guess, you're off to Catalonia in a couple of weeks, aren't you?

**Craig Jukes** (3:57)
Yeah, I fly out in mid-May and then come back first week of July, 10 weeks in the sunshine, and by July, it really starts to get warm in Catalonia, so it's a good time to exist anyway and then get back to the UK and enjoy the blistering summer that we're going to have. But yeah, the UK is a beautiful place and there's some great places here, you know, sunny Plymouth or sunny Shrewsbury and lots of places around the UK. So I do like to get a lot of city breaks as well when I'm here because, you know, there are places to go to that are equally as enjoyable as going abroad. And I think that's why I like the kind of the balance of the UK and Nemanik Lifestyle really, because you get the best of both worlds and enjoy the UK in its sunniest, hopefully, as well as almost guarantee sunshine when you go to like Zika, Arizona or Greece and Spain, etc. So yeah, the balance is perfect for me at the moment and really enjoying it.
