Thank you Vic for having me on your show. My name is James Lady, an unusual name, Teutonic in origin. I grew up in southern Ohio in the glacial moraines, which I have since found, host a number of physical artifacts suggesting that the Bigfoot Sasquatch phenomenon is alive and well down there as well. Midlife, moving up to Michigan. We had vacation here many years in the summers and I fell in love with it. My father had moved here and I moved up here to catch up on some dear old dad time. Most of that has been on the water. He's now 91 and still sailing. We have a wonderful relationship and that is proof that prayers can be answered for the only son of a divorced couple and with three sisters. On that, having grown up with my three sisters down in Ohio, every chance I would get to run down to the creek and spend a little time alone, I took it. I'd run down there and catch salamanders and crawdads and all that stuff. Just let my wildest imaginings guide my next move. I grew up on a host of celluloid heroes like Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett, two of my favorites, and of course, Tarzan. I never ever thought that as I would get older, I'm 61 at the moment.
I'm living the most adventurous, crazy life in the woods that I never thought possible. I'm doing a lot of Tarzan and Jane Goodall type stuff in the simple pursuit of Bigfoot. So having grown up on the subject, I was always curious about it.
I always thought that if they did exist, I wanted to see one. So it wasn't like an event that propelled me to run to Google and the Internet to discover what had happened to me in the woods. I just really by my own wits and reckoning, determined that the phenomenon was real. That was after a few days doing research on YouTube for a canoe and camping trip and fishing trip up to the boundary waters. And that was really the first time I had used YouTube as a research utility. And really, I got, I was amazed. I got everything I wanted to, discovered the lakes, the portages, the type of fishing, all those things we would endure. And I finally had a weak moment after about three days of research. I clicked on a little Bigfoot video just out of curiosity. So, needless to say, and my wife and family and friends can attest to this, till the cows come home, I was, I went down the rabbit hole. I was obsessed. I couldn't believe that, you know, that this is, there was so much evidence out there, and people sharing in large part through testimony, such as the opportunity you've given me today. You know, I learned a lot and you really kind of have to be guarded in what you believe. I'm a creation of logic. It's part of my personality type. So reasoning facts, you know, are in clarity are essential to my comfort level. So I sought all those things in my pursuit of this Bigfoot phenomenon and really it all began with the simple notion that, you know, if these beans were real, I wanted to see one. I just had to see one. I was fascinated by the subject. So when I found out that, you know, the phenomenon is alive and well, and I can go to some of my old favorite fishing spots up north, I started taking my eyes off the stream and into the woods and discovering all I could in wondering about this phenomenon. And I spent, well, only took a couple of camping trips for me to see my first one. That was exciting. And upon, you know, initial contact, just eye contact, it was at nighttime and it was, I don't know, probably 60, 80 feet away. And it was basically a staring contest. I could not see any of its silhouette with the dark woods behind it. All I saw were these two massive eyes. This is my seventh night in the woods after having gone in mid-September 2016, with the sole purpose of trying to see one of these beings.
And lo and behold, the last night there was October 30, 2016 I had this staring contest, which was amazing. It would last a good long time. Initially, I had to really wonder if this was happening, number one, when I determined that it was no animal that I knew, and there were no cows, no moose, nothing out there with forward-oriented eyes that would satisfy my, you know, an explanation for what I was experiencing. And I tell you, Vic, we stared one another down for the longest time. It seemed longer than the video that I had captured after I had broken the impasse. After about, I don't know, let's call it 10 minutes or so, I did break that impasse. I nonchalantly grabbed my flashlight and my video camera, because that's what I was there to do, right? So, breaking the impasse with after staring down with one of these beans was, took some sort of gumption, I think. It was a little nerve wracking to turn away from something that I was convinced was a Sasquatch and much larger than I. But I did, I grabbed my tools and I went to the woods and in the first, I don't know, 15 seconds, I was able to catch a subject in the background, which I wouldn't learn that I had captured for four months, I think, October and it was February, cabin fever is setting in here around Detroit.
