The Koerner Office - Business Ideas and Deep Dives with Chris Koerner
September 29, 2026
━ We did our own Shark Tank! Nik and Brandon joined me on stage, our team narrowed over 250 applicants down to 10 founders, and the three of us went in completely blind. No pitches seen beforehand, real reactions, real money on the table. Each founder got two minutes to pitch, then we dug in.

We did 750 sessions a month, so revenue is 68,000.
Chris Koerner (0:05)
68,000 a month, a year, a month. Okay, I am in so hard on this.
Brandon (0:10)
I don't know anything about health care or veterans, and for that reason, I'm out. Just kidding, I've just always wanted to say that in a real setting.
Nik (0:17)
I bring nothing to the table, but I would be 100% in, take my money.
Chris Koerner (0:21)
I just wanna give you five grand for none of your business, it's just to help you grow your business, and then 20 grand to help spread awareness.
Tom Hamilton (0:28)
I honestly don't know if I have enough cash money to get back to Canada tomorrow, so that really means a lot and thank you.
Chris Koerner (0:37)
Quick heads up before we start today, this episode is going to sound a little different because it is a little different. This summer, I rented out an innovation studio in Provo, Utah called iHub and about 400 people showed up. We had 10 founders walk on stage and pitch me plus Nik and Brandon, two friends of the pod that you'll recognize. They pitched us for real money and they only had two minutes to pitch and then we had 10 minutes to grill them. Some of them just had ideas on the back of a napkin. One is already doing over 60 grand a month. This isn't quite perfect studio audio and it's not supposed to be, but we did put actual money into a few of these businesses and then the audience voted on a winner at the end and you're going to find out who. Welcome to TKO Live. Also, we're going to do this again in Provo probably on November 14th or so, 2026 and we're going to do a four or five city tour in Texas of the same thing. Be on the lookout for that. Please enjoy.

We are going to bring up our first pitch here. We have Eamon Hardin with the Utah Veterans Massage.
Eamon Hardin (1:38)
All right. My company is Utah Veterans Massage. About three years ago, I've started a lot of different businesses. None of them have been super successful, doing so many different things, digging trampoline holes, things like that. Had some success but learned a lot of lessons along the way. Three years ago, I was doing construction, modeling and had been working for a long time. Getting super burned out, having a hard time going to work. And one night, I was just sitting down like rubbing my shoulders. I was like, oh, you know what? I got to switch this up. And so I had the thought I could be a massage therapist. So did a super accelerated program for months. And then I became a licensed massage therapist and started working with. The first place I worked was a medical massage company. I started working with veterans. And it was so rewarding to be able to check in with a veteran like each week and their pain going down and down in a wheelchair. And then him saying, this is the first time in 15 years I haven't felt pain.
So a bunch of stories like that, very motivating to be working with this population. Now, as an entrepreneur, of course, I'm observing the place I'm working. And this niche with veterans is really interesting because they get 12 free sessions, they don't have to pay a dime for it. So it's, and it also pays $90 per session, which as a brand new massage therapist is huge. So I started my own company. It took me like eight months to figure out how to get in the network with the veterans. And so 18 months ago, rented a room for a day a week and then just built over time. 12 months ago, I was doing 70 sessions a month.
And this month we did, we have seven locations now and we did 750 sessions a month. So the revenue is 68,000 and 20,000 of that about his profit.
So it's been a really amazing niche. My goal is to expand to 40 other states.
Chris Koerner (3:33)
Oh, 68,000 a month, a year, a month, a month. Okay. So up 10 acts year over year. Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_6 (3:39)
What are you looking for here?
Eamon Hardin (3:41)
I'm looking for 100,000 for 5% equity stake and also a partner who's taken a healthcare business in a multistate, ideally, possibly up here.
Nik (3:50)
But never heard of her.
Chris Koerner (3:54)
Are you a veteran?
Nik (3:55)
I'm not.
Chris Koerner (3:55)
Okay.
Nik (3:56)
So you've got how many locations?
