HUGE CLARITY ACT NEWS! DEMOCRATS MEET TO DISCUSS CRYPTO BILL & TRUMP MEETS WITH ETHICS ADVISORS!

So the update is the Senate Democrats are meeting tonight to discuss the Crypto Clarity Act. So as we discussed in yesterday's podcast, they're burning the midnight oil here. There's a lot of activity happening with White House Crypto Director Patrick Witt saying, it is a bad day to be a Clarity Act doomer. And there were a lot of reports coming out about members of the Senate meeting. And we got confirmation that the Democrats are meeting tonight to get things rolling. So Politico was reporting this. Let me give you some details. Senate Democrats are meeting tonight for a Sunday evening session to discuss the Clarity Act. This comes right after President Trump met with advisors on Friday regarding the bill's ethics issues or rules. The vote is just 48 hours away and it feels like something is cooking up behind the scenes. So again, Politico is reporting this. Now Senator Chuck Schumer was the one leading the charge here. And if you recall, even going back to the 2024 election, Chuck Schumer, even though he's not an outright vocal crypto supporter, he has been in support of getting legislation done. I think he's one of the more middle of the ground Democrats versus your Elizabeth Warrens and another Democrat we're gonna talk about just after this, who are very anti-crypto, right? He's not in the anti-crypto camp. Now don't get me wrong, he does want certain things in the bill. He does want ethics and things like that, but he's not an outright detractor saying, I hate crypto, I don't want the bill. He's like, hey, let's get something done. So based on the reporting here from Politico, he's leading a group of a dozen Democrats, which includes Kirsten Gillibrand, Mark Warner, Ruben Gallego, Lisa Rochester, Andy Kim and Angela Alsobrooks. Now Angela Alsobrooks, if you guys recall, she was key in getting the bill out of the Senate Banking Committee with the stablecoin yield compromise for the banks. So she's been in interviews talking about, she believes in the technology, she sees her kids are investing in it, and she's thinking about the future, which is great. That's common sense, right? But she does want ethics in there. So I want to make sure that's clear. A lot of the Democrats are not anti-crypto. They just want the ethics, but you do have the extreme camp, like your Elizabeth Warrens, who are very anti-crypto and will love to see this bill get killed because many of them are being lobbied by the banks, right? The incumbents who want to slow this down so they can catch up. So this is where we stand, but this is a positive development, folks. It doesn't guarantee the bill will pass. I'm not saying it will pass. I don't know, but I'm following the facts. I'm reporting that to you, and we can hope for the best, right, that this bill does pass the cloture vote, which I think it will pass the cloture vote, because the fact that you're going to come out and say, we don't even want to negotiate or talk or do amendments on this bill on its Senate floor is asinine, because you at least have to get it there, and even if it doesn't pass the Senate floor, okay, that's one thing. But if you can't get it past the cloture, which is the motion to say, hey, let's take it to the floor, come on, it's ridiculous. And I think that we will get past the cloture vote. Will it pass the floor vote? That's the big question, right?
And as mentioned, President Trump met with advisors on Friday to talk about the ethics proposal. So let's see if tomorrow, Monday, September 14th, the White House sends over some sort of approval of the latest ethics language and the Democrats are going to be happy with it. The other factor I've been highlighting to you guys is that Hunter Biden launching a meme coin could really bode well for the Clarity Act because no, it's no longer just a Republican thing or a Trump thing that they're launching meme coins and making money. Hunter Biden, a Democrat, the son of a former president, and look, we could see other Democrats do it. People who are trying to do a cash grab, and it wouldn't surprise me if somebody big comes out and does this. So this may push some of the Democrats who are like, okay, this is a Trump thing, let's use it against him. And now it's, hey, look, Hunter Biden. Right? So this Hunter Biden situation has a silver lining.
