What's up, everyone? Welcome to the 738th episode of the Pokémon Podcast. It's super effective. I'm your host, Steve. With me is Austin.
Austin (0:24)
Hi, hello. I was up all last night watching the Big Brother live feeds. Big competition going on. But we're here now. I got my coffee. We got a special guest.
Good.
Chris (0:37)
We got a special.
Steve Sarumi (0:39)
Yeah, Chris is here.
Chris (0:43)
What's up, everybody? I'll have you know that you took me away from BlizzCon coverage this weekend to come record a Pokemon podcast. Who talks about Pokemon anymore?
Steve Sarumi (0:51)
I thought they finished that BlizzCon stuff.
Chris (0:54)
I don't think so. I believe it's still going on.
SPEAKER_4 (0:57)
Today's day two, man.
Austin (0:58)
Well, Chris wouldn't know, because he's here right now.
Chris (1:01)
That's right.
Steve Sarumi (1:02)
It could be over. You're fine. Everything's coming out in like 2040, so...
Chris (1:09)
You're not wrong.
Steve Sarumi (1:13)
You're good. You're good. No rush. We have some things coming out sooner than 2040 Some would say arriving late 2026, which is the Pokopia DLC Part 2
We're going to talk about that. Next month, there's a whole EDM show, and they showed some merch for that. We're going to remind you that there is an EDM show that is completely sold out in the US, but they're desperately trying to sell it in London. They have more than half the seats available in London.
Chris (1:44)
I can't believe that.
Austin (1:46)
I thought London was big on EDM.
Chris (1:48)
Yeah.
Steve Sarumi (1:49)
Maybe not big on Pokemon tax applied to the ticket prices.
Chris (1:54)
Get it together. Come on, guys.
Steve Sarumi (1:55)
There are two big events in Pokémon GO, one in like less than two weeks now, the Boston event, and then one in Mexico City and Sendai.
We're going to talk about that because we got more details. Mewtwo arrives this week in Pokémon Sleep, but there was a update. And then the 30th anniversary of the TCG also arrives this week. If you did not steal it off the back of the truck and then sell it to somebody else for them to open it and them get in trouble and not you get in trouble for you're the one stealing it and then selling it to that person. We're not talking about that. That did happen. Don't buy stolen Pokémon goods and then open it for content. Papa Pikachu will find you.
And then if you stick around for our bonus segment, which you know the routine, if Chris is here, bonus segment is free.
Chris (2:47)
You're so welcome.
Steve Sarumi (2:49)
We're going to talk about how maybe we've had too much Mewtwo in Pokémon GO.
Chris (2:54)
Maybe it's about time somebody said something about it.
Steve Sarumi (2:58)
We're saying it here on our bonus segment, patreon.com/pkmncast.
It is free this week. You just have to sign up for the free Patreon account and you get an extra 20ish minutes of maybe too much Mewtwo. So much Mewtwo that you have to go to another place to sign up for free to get more Mewtwo. That's how much Mewtwo there is.
Chris (3:25)
True overflow.
Steve Sarumi (3:27)
Yeah.
Chris (3:28)
Awful.
Steve Sarumi (3:31)
Let's start off with the Pokopia DLC. We got this in the Nintendo Direct.
It was a minute and six seconds long. It says, life in- this is all pokemon.com by the way. Life in Pokemon Pokopia is about to get more stylish with accessories coming available in part two of the expansion pass paid DLC. Will you rock cool sunglasses, a playful Sylveon ribbon or a charming bow tie? Luckily, you can dress up ditto and your Pokemon neighbors, so you can try them all. Part 2 will be available late 2026 They didn't give us a date, which is weird. We're already in September.
Chris (4:09)
I was about to say, there's not a lot of runaway.
Austin (4:10)
We're just about late 2026
Steve Sarumi (4:12)
Yeah. If you can't wait to commence the cuteness, check out the official trailer below. Part 1 is available now.
Then they show the trailer. Chris, did you... Wait, hold on. Were you on the Pokopia bandwagon or were you off it? I can't remember.
Chris (4:28)
I played it for like five or so hours, and then I got pulled off to play, I think it was Crimson Desert that came out at the time. Very similar games. It's super similar. I only have so much time for my cozy Sims.
I never really went back, but I feel like I've consumed so much of this game through reels and streams and stuff. It's very difficult to not get caught up in it. I think it's a very spectacular spectator game, especially if the person streaming it's engaged in and kind of talking about it. If I had to watch somebody in silence, I think I'd rather never do that, but it's a great stream game, I think.
