Christian Alex Golesh promised us a process-driven program. But do you like his approach this fall?
**Christian Rau** (2:23)
I love it. Let's get into it.
**Mike G** (2:25)
Let's go.
Welcome on into The Auburn Express, powered by The War Rapport. I'm your host, Mike G. Turn us on, turn us up. We'll turn it out. I'm here with my good friend, Christian Rau, Auburn Sports commentator extraordinaire. Talk a little Auburn Football here on today's show. We're going to talk about how Alex Golesh and Joel Gordon plan to attack that Baylor defense in week one. But before we get to that, we got to talk about fall camp. Fall camp started. I watched him practice yesterday, Chris said it was so great to be out there. We're going to talk about Alex Golesh's approach to this fall camp. Guys, don't forget to like and subscribe to the channel. Your likes and subscribes help keep us the number one source of Auburn Football content out there. Start at the top. Do you like his approach to fall camp? There were reports of him sequestering the players, putting them in a hotel, removing distractions. He promised a process-driven program.
It feels like he's putting his money where his mouth is. He's in all talk. He's saying, hey, you guys are going to focus, you're going to be invested, or you're not going to be on my field on Saturdays.
**Christian Rau** (3:43)
There was too many distractions last year to not be not okay with this. The fact that if you have any kind of criticism towards this, I don't know what to tell you. I'm not in your boat. I am all about this with Alex Golesh. I mean, 13 days in the Marriott, in Opel Ica. I mean, this is perfect. It's right before classes start. This is, look, they are not trying to feel like this is going to be year one in the program. They are seeing that this is just another addition to what they've already built at South Florida. I am a strong believer of that. We heard Byron Brown speak at SEC Media Days, and he talked about they're not trying to make year one, the year they build the identity, the year they just are known for, yeah, they're just building something for the future. They want to start that right away.
I think this helps streamline the process. We already saw them have a really good spring. We're going to talk about what we saw in fall camp. I can tell you from what I've seen, that didn't look like day one of fall camp. That looked like a mid-season form practice. They are already ahead of schedule, adding that in with those 13 days of no distractions and just all football. I love the quote where he's like, no cell phones, no cats, whatever you're into, things like that. None of that, it's just football.
