There's only main character energy here. Now let's get into it.

Welcome to episode 883, and a continuation of the relaunching of classic episodes. This one is how to know what's a distraction versus what's truly yours. How to know what's a distraction versus what's truly yours. Again, I've been diving back into the catalog from a few hundred episodes ago. We have a lot of new listeners, and also maybe you heard this original one, and I'm pulling out classics that I think are such great messages to just keep revisiting. I appreciate you guys. Thank you as always.

Welcome to episode 528 How do you know what's a distraction versus what's truly yours? How do you know what's a distraction versus what is divine? What is truly yours? It's a tough one, right?

I get asked this all the time. And there's, you know, we need clarity, we need discernment, and we, you know, we're bombarded with so many things that can't even look like the opportunities we're praying for, but may actually not be what we need most. That's tough. Like, let's own that for a minute. That is a tough thing, because it's like, no, wait, I prayed for this. It's being presented to me. This clearly must be it. You know, and you get these words thrown around all the time, like, oh, well, I manifested this. And it's like, well, you gave energy to something that is currently very important to you. Yes. Are you going to see more of those things popping up? Absolutely. You're giving energy to it. Does that mean every single thing that comes into your world that looks like that meant for you? And I think that's the part that you have to learn through tapping in, through clarity, through alignment, through discernment, all of these things, right? Not everything that's pulling at you is meant for you.

And you have to know the distractions that are dressed as opportunities. Well, ironically, other things like divine assignments, things that are just so right on for us, sometimes they look too small to matter, right? You ever go back to something like, oh my god, it was right in front of me the whole time? Like, yeah. And think about that. That's, you know, in maybe your purpose, that's in your work, that's in your relationships, your friendships, right? You ever just something so small that we didn't pay enough attention to it? It was so subtle. And that actually happened to be something purely divine, purely for you. That was yours. It is yours. It will always be yours.

So the key to discernment isn't really just identifying like what feels good, it's about identifying what's yours. And I think that's probably the fundamental thing we're going to talk about here is because it's very easy to look at something like, oh, that feels, that's it, that feels great. Well, of course, something feels great because the emotions can get triggered, the dopamine can get triggered, whatever it might be doesn't mean it's its best thing for you. It's a big reason why I constantly preach about long game mentality because it forces you into healthily, forces you into having a relationship with yourself, your alignment, your soul, the details that matter for you, how to identify and navigate the right opportunities. Because, I mean, it's happened to all of us where we felt detoured. Like, I didn't see that coming. I felt like sideswiped, right?

So we have to learn first that not everything that glitters is God given.

Distractions don't always look like problems. Sometimes they look like opportunities. That's the key, is knowing that they look like that shiny thing that can make you money, get you seen, get you noticed. But if you pay attention, they have a different frequency. They just do. I think that's something that I've been able to do for quite some time. And I think people like, they have asked me, they're like, you know, it's interesting that you don't naturally take a lot of the different opportunities that come your way. And I was like, well, listen, when you put yourself out there, when you put your work out there and you grow something over time, you are going to be thrown a lot of opportunities, a lot of opportunities. But I've learned that, like, as you feel into it, something can feel off. Now, I've had to learn to trust that. And part of how I learned to trust that is, there were times, I'll tell you this, this is where I felt very protected, there were times where I wanted things to happen. I even tried to make them happen, and they just couldn't. You ever, you guys ever have that? Like, where it's just like, the thing couldn't happen. There was like some weird resistance in the way, and you're like, what keeps getting in the way of this? I don't understand, you know? And so I think that's such a blessing. So that taught me to listen to the frequency more like, like, what's coming through that wouldn't be as obvious, right? Because distractions are so seductive. Think about it. Distractions appeal to your ego, validation, attention, immediate gratification. They present urgency, right? Act now or miss out. Oh my God, like, listen, guys, I'm going to tell you right now, I understand in the sales world, people say like, you know, the whole scarcity, like, you know, for a limited time and this is that we all know that that's not the truth. Sometimes, maybe like, I guess it's like a Black Friday sale or something like that with, you know, with the holidays and some of that. But for the most part, it'll come around again, like, you know, act now or miss out, like, they present urgency.
