This conversation is about more than workplace wellbeing. It is a warning to leaders that technology adoption changes the load on people, not just the output of systems.

Welcome to Embracing Digital Transformation. Before we dive in, I wanted to personally thank you for listening. Many of the ideas we discuss on this show inspired my new book, AI Augmented Teams. If you're looking for practical ways to combine human expertise and AI to achieve better outcomes, I think you'll find it valuable. Learn more at padar.ai.books. That is paidar.ai.
Now let's get started with the show.

And I think there is more stress. In many ways, I see.
Is increasing the stress a little bit at this stage. And the premise is it should be reducing the lower, like it should make it easier for us to get things done. But at the same time...
Darren Pulsipher (0:50)
What do you think that is? I mean, because you're right, AI is supposed to take away some of the mundane, some of the stress stuff. But why? Because I'm seeing the same thing. Stress levels are higher. So why do you think that is? Why this matters to you. AI is supposed to give organizations more speed, more leverage and less friction. But many leaders are already seeing the opposite. More cognitive load, more rework and more pressure on people who are trying to keep up. If you are responsible for technology, transformation or operational performance, this conversation will help you see why productivity gains can quietly turn into capacity problems. The real question is not whether AI works. It is whether your organization can use it without wearing people down. Let's get into it.
Welcome to Embracing Digital Transformation. This is Dr. Darren.
On this episode, how to build AI workflows without burning out your team with Georgina Woodley.
Georgina, welcome to the show.
Georgina Woodley (1:58)
Thank you so much, Darren. Such a pleasure to be here.
Darren Pulsipher (2:02)
Hey, you know, I'm excited about when we just first talked last week, and I got you on the show right away. Great timing on our schedules. It does help that you're what, 15 hours ahead of me in Australia, which is nice.
I'm really excited about the topic today around the humanity part of AI and all this great stuff. But before we get started, everyone that listens to my show knows, I only have superheroes on the show. Every superhero has a background story. So Georgina, what's your background story? What's your superhero background story?
Georgina Woodley (2:36)
All right. Thank you very much. I'd love to share it.
I guess if I start with, I guess where I started in life, I started out my career in accounting, and accounting, and consulting, and all that sort of structured stuff. And then I'm so fascinated about people, and what drives people and motivates them that I took my career into that direction in terms of market research. I guess this is my background story. A little bit career-wise, but it leads into my personal story. And along that way, I spent my life, I guess, being in that over, what do they call them?
Insecure overachiever. In fact, it was one of the terms that one of my colleagues labeled us all as young consultants, insecure overachievers. And so we spent our careers stressed out working really hard. And at some point in my career, I was really paying attention to that in myself, but also watching that coming through in the results that I was looking at. I was working a lot in customer experience. And so this concept of stress and the human energy that goes on in exchanges between people became a point of fascination for me. And personally, I spent a lot of time and space on energy healing personally. And as I went on that journey, I also realized, of course, you can change within yourself, but your environment is also a big factor too. And that led me to a point where I was looking into energy healing for business as well, which is quite out there.
Darren Pulsipher (4:13)
Yeah, but it's actually fascinating and probably with what's going on today in the world of business, there's a lot of stagnation.
There's a lot of worrying. There's a lot of executives not knowing what to do. A lot of managers that are in a quagmire. And there's a lot of professionals that are like going, am I even going to have a job in the near future? Yeah. So yeah, this is a perfect time to talk about this.
Georgina Woodley (4:41)
Yeah. So as I went into that journey, I started to think about, well, how can I bring that into my business? Because I could see the impact that it was having. I could see the impact of energy healing on me personally and how you can walk into a session feeling stressed and anxious and all of this stuff going around and walk out and just go, what was I even worried about? So, how fast that can be. And then putting that into place in my business, I observed just how things that had a lot of friction suddenly became easier. And you couldn't quite explain why, but obviously I knew why I was having work done on the business.
