You got a minute? I want to show you how to be a time management wizard. You know, one of the reasons I became a time management wizard is I wasn't very good with time at all. But I had an army of mentors and influences that changed my life. If you ever tour a buffining company, one of the things you'll see is the Wall of Gratitude. People like Henry Cloud and Zig Ziglar and Jim Rohn. Here's Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon. Here's people that spoke into my life like Daniel Goleman.
Here's Mel Robbins, here's the great Mitch Albom. All of these great folks. There's Jay Leno, the great Lou Hulse. Rest in peace. All of these characters spoke into my life, and they helped me develop skills. And the number one skill I developed is how to manage my time. So join me today. I'm going to show you how to be a time management wizard.
Today's Blueprint is How to Be a Time Management Wizard. Would you guys like to learn how to handle your time a little better? Everybody wishes they had more time. I've asked audiences all over the world, 47 countries, what would you do with an extra day?
Or what would you do with an extra hour in your day? When I asked that specific question, people shout out, I'd exercise, I'd read, I'd spend time with my family. I'd do this, I'd do that. Do you know what the answer is? There is an actual true answer. If you had 25 hours in your day, do you want to know what the answer is? You would do exactly with that hour what you do with the 24 you got now. The fact of the matter is, some people do more with their time than others.
You know, have you ever heard the phrase, waste time, like someone who wastes money? And there are people who talk about spend time. I spent time at the beach. Nobody ever thinks of it in terms of investment. A return on investment. Those terms are only ever taught in regards to money.
Time and money. Let me ask you, at the end of your life, what would you rather have more of? More money or more time? You're on your deathbed. Oh, if only I could have added a zero. The people who come after you might have thought that. We all want more time. So I'm gonna talk how to be a time management, wizard. Do you know I'm a time management wizard? You know, the best kind of person who's become successful at something is the person who was the worst.
My whole life growing up, I was late for everything. It's one of the reasons I got so good at talking. Because I'd always have a great entertaining reason for why I was late. I could tell great stories. And I would entertain people while I would tell them why I was late. And I would do this my whole life. And then I got into real estate, and I'm a young married man. And I help this couple buy a home. And the lady in the marriage, her dad, was a very famous guy. He was in the Who's Who, back in the day, the east of a book called Who's Who. He was in the Who's Who as the most organized man in America.
He was a brilliant guy. Same as Dr. Alex Lackey. And he met with me. And he kind of took a shine to me. And I was this young Irish fireball trying to get things going in real estate business. He said, I'd love to have lunch with you. I would love to have lunch with you. He had written 10 best selling books. He had performed multiple times at Carnegie Hall. He'd written symphonies. He was the principal of a school in Orange County, a private school in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in America, where people would sleep and sleep in bags the night before to enroll their kids. They had a year and a half waiting list to get in his school. Everything he did turned to gold. He was a time management wizard and the most organized man in America. So what do you think happens for our very first luncheon appointment?
You're late. I'm late. And I had a great story. And he sat there patiently, and he listened. And he said, Brian, you're an excellent communicator. That's why I wanted to meet with you today. But he said, I wonder if you've ever thought about this. Well, he said, what's the most important motivation for you in business? When you're working with your clients, as you did such a great job for my daughter, what's your number one motivation? I said, the people will trust me. He goes, that's great. Because he said, I see that in you.
