Welcome to How to Build an 8 Figure ABC. My name is Jordan Ross, and I'm your host. And over the course of this journey, we're going to be interviewing 8 Figure Agency owners and going through the systems that I've seen work and we've implemented into our clients' businesses that have helped our clients add a half a billion dollars in annual recurring revenue over the last handful of years. I myself have already hit the 8 Figures in annual recurring revenue, and when I got there, I wasn't happy. I was stressed, I was dissatisfied, and I didn't like the people I was working with. So I clicked the restart button and went from 12 million in annual portfolio revenue back down to the mid-seven figure level to a climb back again. And on this journey, I'm going to be documenting my process on how I'm getting bath date figures and bringing you expert industry leaders who will tell you everything they did to get there as well. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy the episode.
If you ever have the pleasure of working with a 5X, 6X, or 7X founder, they're going to bring an abundance of knowledge. If you have the pleasure of working with someone like that who's scaled and launched and run more than nine or 10 businesses, but they've done in Silicon Valley and they've done it from the tech scene and now they're AI forward, you were going to be at the forefront of arguably genius. And that's what we got today. I got Dave Sifry. This guy used to say he's a 9X founder, but now he's building a company that builds companies. So who knows how many multiples times over that's going to happen? Dave and I are in Hampton together. This guy is what people say about you, Dave, behind your back. This guy is the OG, the genius, that everyone wants to know and talk to because he's got a lot of good things to say. So Dave, thanks for coming on, man.
Before we get going, for someone that doesn't know you and only knows you from my intro, who's Dave? And we'll start there.
**Dave Sifry** (1:46)
Wow, that's incredibly kind. Thank you so much, Jordan. By the way, the 20 bucks are in the mail.
**Jordan Ross** (1:54)
It was 200, sorry.
**Dave Sifry** (1:57)
Right, inflation. So I guess what I think about myself is I'm a nerd by birth and a geek by training. I grew up and I just naturally am very nerdy. I love science. I love to figure out, I love to take things apart and first principles and figure out how things work and why they work and understand people and relationships and try to understand the systems behind the systems. I got my first computer when I was nine years old and I was completely entranced. This was way back in the day before there was the Internet before any of that stuff and it was this incredibly creative place for me to be able to express myself.
I found that take that and the ability to do some technical stuff and people were willing to pay me for that and I could help them to solve important problems. When I was 16, I could go and work at McDonald's, Flippin Burgers for $3.75 or people would pay me $50 an hour to go and fix their computer related problems for $50 an hour. It was just not even a question. I became an entrepreneur when I was 16 and worked my way through college and I became a trained computer scientist and was off to the races from there.
When you are a nerd kid growing up on Long Island, you hear about all of-

Where on Long Island?
**Dave Sifry** (3:30)
South Shore, Oceanside.
**Jordan Ross** (3:32)
Okay, I'm playing with you. My parents have a place in Lido. So shut out.
Yeah, I'll be in Lido very soon. So shout out to Long Island, the 516, it's on the bottom.
**Dave Sifry** (3:41)
Long Island, hey, you got a problem with that. Hey, forget about it. And so growing up out there, and this was in the mid 70s and 80s, and we would hear about these magical places called Berkeley, and Mountain View, and Cupertino, and Los Altos, and all of these amazing places that were Silicon Valley. And I knew that I just, you know, if you play basketball, you grow up and you're playing basketball, you know that you've got to try out for the NBA. And for me, it was being part of that technology scene, being a kid 2,500 miles away on the other side of the country, and hearing about all of these magical places, I knew that if I wanted to really find out how good I was, I needed to come out here to Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay area. And so I've been out here since the mid 90s, and I got to really experience both the first web boom and then the crash, and then the second web boom, Web 2.0, and then mobile. And gosh, I tried really hard to figure out a way for crypto, and I just couldn't figure out.
