Hello, and welcome to Talk the Thrones. I am Chris Ryan. I am joined as always by Joanna Robinson, and as well as a woman who is finally done with her needle point. It's Mallory Rubin. We are here to break down the finale of the third season of House of the Dragon. A little bit of housekeeping. We are live on YouTube right now.

**SPEAKER_2** (0:42)
We're live.

**Chris Ryan** (0:43)
And if anybody has any questions, you can send them to Mal's email address. And that is, if anybody has any questions, you can throw them in the YouTube chat. We're gonna try and hit a couple of them at the end of the episode. Any kind of, like, I would say, lore-heavy text slash book-meaning questions, the place to send those are House of R, which is where we are being broadcast audio-wise and on Spotify. Mal and Jo are gonna go deep on this episode of House of the Dragon and the season of House of the Dragon on Tuesday. Andy and I will talk superficially about it on Monday.
And we are going to get into the recap of a thrilling and crispy finale right about now.

Let me tell you something.

**Joanna Robinson** (1:41)
Yeah.

**Mallory Rubin** (1:41)
I have a couple of those now. I have the lightweight cotton cashmere relaxed sweater tee.
Sensational. And the cotton cashmere ribbed tank. Can't wait to introduce that into my wardrobe. Fashionable?

**Joanna Robinson** (1:55)
I'm currently grappling with my first Los Angeles summer, and I had to make some changes to my wardrobe, and the linen button down offers from Quince were essential for that. Very breathable. Very beautiful colors. I'm thrilled to change up my wardrobe to endure this LA summer. Upgrade your everyday. Go to quince.com/house of for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. **Chris Ryan** (3:36)
Okay, fair warning. I only watched this episode once, like most people, but Ormund won, right?

**Mallory Rubin** (3:41)
That's right.

**SPEAKER_5** (3:42)
You're ready to go. You're ready to pod live. Those aren't ready to go. The recap.

**Chris Ryan** (3:45)
That Aegon lives push notification, hit Rhaenyra like a ton of bricks, and she finally takes the safety off of Daemon. Doing so negates the purpose of having Messaria around, although she had served some purposes the previous week, you know what I'm saying?

**Mallory Rubin** (4:01)
And Messaria, bad lay, we gotta ask.

**Chris Ryan** (4:03)
They sent her where all bad lays go, off to Pentos.
Aegon has reunited with his brother, and that's some heartwarming stuff. Basically, he turns Aemond into his dragon bodyguard and Alys is not happy about that. We learn a little bit about Alys. We sure do. And some of her concoctions and potions. Baela and Addam are also not happy about the way Rhaenyra has been treating them basically as if they were dragon riding Amazon delivery folks. Their father Corlys is being held hostage by Ormund, but little G. Wayne and Darren try to parlay with him on the side. All for not because the Battle of Tumbleton begins. Ulf nearly misses it with a hangover, switches sides to the greens, switches sides to team fuck you, and then flies off as a solo act. In the battle, Hugh loses Cat, Ormund loses a fight with a one-armed Northman, and Daemon gets saved by a pile of burning rubble and Corlys back in King's Landon. Rhaenyra has Alyn kill a priest and comes home to find another one of Alyson's children are dead.
