But I think with the same joie de vivre that we usually bring to cooking shows and stuff like that, we're going to get into the recap in just one second.
Fire up Danny Boy for the boyfriend. My beloved pre-Cristin Cole, bodyguard, hand, usurper, dead. Goes out fighting zombie river men, getting taunted by a teenager, and then shot in the face by an arrow. May you rest in peace and listen to Husbands by Geese somewhere in hell, my friend. Amazing.
Before he goes out, he ties Alison's monogrammed hankie around his sword. Somewhere Alison is doing the Don Draper, I don't think about you at all. Actually, she is in a dark King's Landing passageway with her daughter who is pregnant. And in the situation room of that same palace, Rhaenyra is still debating what to do about Ormund and his King's Landing insurgency that's killing all the Gold Cloaks. During this cabinet meeting, Daemon announces the prophecy that brought Rhaenyra to power, but that I don't think anyone else but him and Alison knows about except for now, the Master of Coin and Myserea and all the other people in that.

Yeah, Sabbath of Frey knows about the prophecy. Okay.

Rhaenyra has the slick idea to borrow some Baratheon garb and send some assassins at Ormund and Daeron, which works out about as poorly as you can imagine.

I thought it was a good idea and it almost worked.

She should have just said better assassins is my idea.

I mean, she didn't count on Gawain.

You know, absolute. Sometimes Gainous is a superpower. He's like, this guy, not hot enough.

Sometimes it's also a surprise. What else? We have Hugh and Ulf who are starting to buck their heads. Ulf wants to take down some beers with the lads and show off his dragon. Hugh wants to rescue his wife who's trapped in Ormund's village of the damned. The Gold Cloaks are going on strike right when Daemon needs them most because they haven't been paid and they are getting murdered.
There's some Valarian family business that we didn't press last week really. Alan lobbies his dad Corlis to come back into the King's land and fold. Alan also hooks up with Bela as the two bond over being overlooked and, yeah, I guess it is, right? Is niece, yeah.

Classic Chris, yeah, yes. I mean, it hardly counts on this show.
They bond over being the dutiful children of fathers who overlook them.

There's also some Hightower stuff. Gwain is back and tired and Ormond is not impressed with his adventures. We also get Darren finally articulating that he is not super into being Ormond's puppet king. And neither is Gwain. And Gwain is also apparently gay, according to Ormond. Which I thought was interesting.
