All right, little Maxwell Silver Hammer King from Pete, coming out today. I like it, yes sir, yes sir. 6-11, McMonigle here with you on the last stop of The Carton Show, taking until 7 o'clock tonight. Yankee baseball can be heard on the AM dial at 6.25 pregame, and I'll be taking you until 7 o'clock.
I just saw Lugy, it's football at 7, I thought Lugy might be taking over. But it's just right to football at 7 Pregame. What pregame? The Westwood. I understand that, but why is Lugy here?
It's a good question. That's a good question. I was going to say till football, and then I saw. Maybe he wants to watch the game and he just came out. Maybe that's it, maybe that's as simple as that.
But whenever you see Lugy around with his new beard mustache combo that he's got going on, he's got the... I wish I could grow it. I don't even want to make fun of him, because I cannot grow facial hair at 40 years old. You're on at 7? That's what I said.
SPEAKER_3 (1:03)
They both told me football.
Chris McMonigle (1:05)
I'm with you. That's what I said. There's no way he doesn't live that far. You're still in the city now, right? Oh, you're out in Long Island. Oh, okay. You didn't tell anybody you moved, though.
They were very upset with you. What? Or what he's on air. Yeah. I said, why would he be here if he's not on at 7? But both of you were like, oh, it's to the football. Okay. Well, Lugui is coming up at 7
That's exciting. Again, I was saying, he's growing the full beard, but he's growing the mustache out even more. So it's like two levels. It's levels of facial hair. It's like Seinfeld. He's a big Seinfeld guy. Levels, Jerry, levels.
SPEAKER_5 (1:44)
See, I feel like he's going the Robert Stoller look where it's like he has given an extra color to his beard. Remember that?
Chris McMonigle (1:52)
Yeah.
SPEAKER_5 (1:52)
When he colorized his beard.
Chris McMonigle (1:54)
Yeah, no. I feel like Tommy's pulling that off. Well, the mustache is a little bit of a different color than the rest of the beard. It grows in a little bit of a, I don't know if it's lighter or darker, but yeah, very much so.
SPEAKER_5 (2:04)
Gotta have different tones.
Chris McMonigle (2:05)
I'm not gonna knock anybody. I cannot grow a beard. All I have is the under the neck beard thing.
Above the jaw line doesn't come in at all. I don't know what it is.
SPEAKER_5 (2:15)
But that's so much more manageable, I feel like.
Chris McMonigle (2:17)
Well, it's manageable, but sometimes I just want to grow it out a little bit, but you can't grow it out. I can't. No, you can't. Neck beards.
SPEAKER_5 (2:23)
Neck beards.
Chris McMonigle (2:25)
And listen, it doesn't grow hair. I feel like I haven't shaved since, I shaved this morning for the first time since like the cruise, and you could barely tell, because I just don't grow a facial hair. I'm a man-champion.
SPEAKER_5 (2:35)
But you have a great mustache, and I gotta be honest with you, not everyone can pull that off. I can't.
Chris McMonigle (2:40)
And it's now, it's very salt and pepper. We don't have to get into all this stuff. 888-808-1019. Obviously talking a lot about Aaron Judge. To start the show, Jaxson Dart, New York Giants, and I guess the Jets have gone under the radar here. That's what happens when the Giants lost their starting quarterback for the season, and we debate whether or not the Giants season is over. Again, when you say the season is over, it's not literally they're not playing on Sunday or that there's no reason to watch or that, but man, oh man, so much was tied to this quarterback. It's a devastating blow. It's a devastating blow. It doesn't mean I won't rally, it doesn't mean I won't get behind Jameis Winston and the Giants. I still believe in the coach. I still believe in the roster on some level. I still think they're a six, seven-win football team, but winning six or seven games with Jaxson Dart playing well was something. Like I could sell myself on a six or seven or eight-win season that ultimately is disappointing. As long as Jaxson Dart showed that he's the future quarterback, I could sell myself on that being step one of a building process towards something. And I know you want to see neighbors play well and healthy, and he's already kind of put that out to bed with the pop shoulder. I'm sure he's going to have some sort of off-season surgery to fix his shoulder, no doubt, if he even makes it through the year. And now we've got Andrew Thomas didn't practice. You got who knows how long Burns is going to be out. Sounds like that's trekking in the wrong direction towards being more injured and more of a significant injury.
