She got that big old ass.

Chris McMonigle (0:25)

What are the, who's that with her?

Craig Carton (0:27)

Ah, Tug McGraw.

Chris McMonigle (0:28)

Tug McGraw.

Craig Carton (0:29)

That's right. Used to sing. Played for the Mets. Mm-hmm.

Chris McMonigle (0:31)

I was going to say.

Craig Carton (0:32)

Steve Cohen wrote a letter to New York Mets fans. Would you like to hear a little taste of it?

Chris McMonigle (0:38)

He was talking to me. What was the first words that came out of your mouth there? He was telling me what it actually was.

Craig Carton (0:44)

Steve Cohen wrote a letter to Mets fans.

Chris McMonigle (0:46)

Oh, he did.

Craig Carton (0:46)

Would you like to hear a little taste of it?

Chris McMonigle (0:48)

Of course I would. I'd like to hear the whole thing.

Craig Carton (0:50)

I'm not reading the whole thing. Why not? Because it's long.

Chris McMonigle (0:52)

Why don't you just give me a taste? Give me the whole thing. Don't rack that up.

Craig Carton (0:58)

Rack it!

Chris McMonigle (1:00)

I don't want just a taste.

Craig Carton (1:02)

Just the whole thing.

Chris McMonigle (1:03)

Give me the whole thing.

Craig Carton (1:04)

To our loyal members. It's already weird.

Chris McMonigle (1:07)

Our loyal members? Isn't this the Rotary Club?

Craig Carton (1:10)

This is a message from Steve and Alex Cohen. I guess she runs the shipper on there. Sent to season ticket holders. To our loyal members.

As the 2026 season comes to an end, we recognize that it did not unfold the way any of us hoped. Frankly, I was disgusted by the performance of most of the acquisitions that our battle general manager made. However, your passion never wavered. We never take your loyalty or the responsibility that comes with it for granted, even when we eff it up in the manner we did. This particular season, you deserve so much better than what we have given you. For those of you that have complained openly and publicly that I am not even a real Met fan, you are right.

Truth be told, I grew up a die-hard Yankee fan, and only because my wife's father was a Met fan did I now pretend to be a die-hard Met fan. Furthermore, as many of you know, I tried to buy the Dodgers first. The Mets were the only team that would sell to me, so I bought them. Six years later, I've got a casino, so ha-ha on you.

As always, let's go match Steve Cohen.

Chris McMonigle (2:38)

That's an interesting letter.

Craig Carton (2:39)

Yeah, that's what he wrote there.

Chris McMonigle (2:40)

I'm surprised he went in that direction.

Craig Carton (2:41)

I may have taken some liberties. I've got to be honest.

Chris McMonigle (2:43)

I would have... I did not see the ha-ha jokes on you.

Craig Carton (2:47)

Oh, he did say this.

Thank you for continuing to show up and stand behind this team. The energy you bring to City Field creates a true home field advantage. Wait a minute. What was their home record this year?

Chris McMonigle (2:59)

Probably not good.

Craig Carton (3:01)

Probably not good.

Chris McMonigle (3:02)

They were 35 and like 44

Craig Carton (3:04)

Yeah, so they were about 10 games under 500 at home.

So he's kind of blaming you guys, since the home field advantage is based on you guys. Excuse you.

Chris McMonigle (3:14)

Wow.

Craig Carton (3:14)

Yeah, Pete, I told you to stop burping on the air.

Chris McMonigle (3:17)

Interesting letter. I'm not sure how to take it, to be honest with you.

Craig Carton (3:20)

Interesting letter.

Chris McMonigle (3:21)

I feel like he wrote it, you know.

Craig Carton (3:22)

He wrote it a month ago.

Chris McMonigle (3:24)

In a moment of frustration.

Craig Carton (3:25)

Yeah. Let's go to John Amasa-Pekra on the fan.

Chris McMonigle (3:29)

What the hell just happened?

Craig Carton (3:31)

John.

Chris McMonigle (3:32)

What's going on, buddy?

SPEAKER_3 (3:34)

What's up, buddy?

Chris McMonigle (3:35)

What's up?

Craig Carton (3:38)

How are you?

SPEAKER_3 (3:38)

It's been a nice, well, it is been, but you said Tug McGraw. Yeah, he's, Tug's gone. It's Tim, the son that sings.

Sonny Somers (3:45)

Are you okay?

Craig Carton (3:46)

You have that, you have that reverse, pal.

Chris McMonigle (3:47)

But the song was a long time ago, so.

Craig Carton (3:49)

Yeah, yeah. Tug McGraw.

Sonny Somers (3:52)

Yeah.

Craig Carton (3:52)

Had three, 13 number one hits on the country music albums.

SPEAKER_3 (3:56)

Tug, T-U-G, Tug.

Craig Carton (3:58)

Yes, Tug McGraw.

SPEAKER_3 (4:00)

All right, if that's true, I apologize.
