Hour 4: Does Jaxson Dart Need More Preseason Reps?

Major League, before I get to the baseball thing, I did tease that we get into the Giants real quick and the Jets. Still no official word from either team. So this is not me picking one over the other. I don't get it.
Like, what's the benefit in not telling the guys or even announcing, hey, tomorrow night for the last preseason game, we're playing our ones?

Yeah, I don't know why they haven't.

Or even beyond that, because not all, like, Malik Nabors is not going to play, obviously, tomorrow night. I don't think every giant fan accepts that. You got to do everything in your power to get him ready, if you can get him ready, for week one against the Cowboys. Breeze Hall is not going to play tomorrow night. I accept that as a jet fan. So I think we're in the same boat on this.
But I firmly believe, I've said it all week, that Geno Smith needs to have a couple more reps with the jet offense. And Jaxson Dart, who's only played 14 games in his NFL career and only taken 14 snaps this preseason, needs to get more reps. And I'm not saying put him out there and throw the ball 50 times in a half. I'm saying run a skeleton version of your offense, run the ball first down if you want, play action pass, that kind of stuff.
But are you, as a giant fan, comfortable going into the first game against the Dallas Cowboys with your quarterback and this offense, which is a lot of new guys together this year, and new coaching staff, having had 14 snaps, period, stop?

I don't know how you could be. Yeah, I mean, I'm not comfortable with it, but I mean, I just don't know.
I think you take it a step further than I would. I think you should play. I totally agree with you.

So we're in the same boat on that. Same boat there.

But you're, like, what's another 10 snap? Like, I don't think it's a cure-all. I don't think it's necessarily like, wow, if he doesn't play, how could he be ready? Well, those other 10 snaps he takes, I agree with you on that. Like, oh, wow, he's going to be so much more competent if he takes 10 more snaps.

It's the fact that more experience helps.

As compared to less experience.

It helps. And if he does, and I would say this, if he doesn't play and then the first half looks awful against the Cowboys, we're going to be like, why didn't he play more in the preseason?

And I'll give you another level to that, because I'm with you on that in lockstep. Yes, if the Giants come out, let's say he doesn't play tomorrow. So he had 14 total snaps the entire preseason, and the Giants' offense looks like crap against what I think is going to be a very good defensive team with the Dallas Cowboys, that's going to be a narrative. Why didn't your offense play in the preseason, right? But that will give you another step. So Odell Beckham Jr. is an interesting guy.
I think he's going to make the roster. I think it's already been decided. Odell is going to be a giant this year. I think you're with me on that, right?
Odell Beckham Jr. has never played a snap of football. Not a single one. With Jaxson Dart. Right. Okay? Now, I did hear Harbaugh say the other morning, yesterday morning, that Odell Beckham is going to play tomorrow night. Because they haven't officially decided if he made the roster. I think they have.

But he did say, you're going to see OBJ.
What benefit is there to Odell Beckham Jr. playing in the fourth quarter or third quarter without Jaxson Dart being the guy throwing him the ball? Because that situation should never happen this year. Correct?

So I don't get that. Well, I mean, look, you could still, what's the point of ever playing a different quarterback then? You know, like, you could still judge how he moves. You could still judge if he makes plays.
