All right, it's time for The Carton & C-Mac.

Carton Show with C-Mac, Carton & C-Mac. It's the player to watch, though, and it's sponsored by ElecT825, Build Our Future.

Chris McMonigle (0:11)

How do we do this, we each pick our own player, or?

Craig Carton (0:13)

I was thinking I was just gonna pick a player.

Chris McMonigle (0:15)

Oh.

Craig Carton (0:15)

I was gonna eliminate you from the process.

Chris McMonigle (0:17)

All right.

Craig Carton (0:18)

I'm just gonna, I'm gonna dictate who the player to watch is.

Chris McMonigle (0:20)

But isn't it more fun if we both pick a player and see which one of us got it right?

Craig Carton (0:24)

Well, not to, what do you mean?

Chris McMonigle (0:25)

Like the player to watch.

Craig Carton (0:26)

But that could go either way.

SPEAKER_3 (0:27)

But is it for tonight's game?

Craig Carton (0:29)

No.

Chris McMonigle (0:30)

Oh, got it. Seems like that's the way we ought to do it. Okay.

Craig Carton (0:33)

Well, I'm gonna make an executive decision real quick.

Chris McMonigle (0:35)

That we're not doing the player to watch based on tonight's game?

Craig Carton (0:38)

Correct.

Chris McMonigle (0:39)

But why wouldn't we do that? Who's it sponsored by?

Craig Carton (0:43)

Elec 825, Building Our Future.

Chris McMonigle (0:46)

Elec 825, Building Our Future? Elec 825, Building Our Future? My play?

Craig Carton (0:52)

Who's your player to watch tonight?

Ken, who is it? Tell me. I'm dying to know.

Chris McMonigle (0:58)

McCaffrey? I think you got it.

Craig Carton (1:00)

Stafford?

Chris McMonigle (1:01)

Puka?

I think to make this fun, Where are you going? I think to make this fun, what we should do is pick someone out of the obvious and see which one of us had a better answer. and see which one of us had a better answer. Based on the stats of tonight's game.

Craig Carton (1:17)

But again, I don't know, are we doing this every Thursday?

SPEAKER_4 (1:19)

I don't know, we're doing it today.

Craig Carton (1:20)

Okay.

Chris McMonigle (1:21)

All right. And if you say Anthony Volpe, I'm going to quote him.

Craig Carton (1:25)

He is the player to watch, but no, it's a football thing. All right. So tell me, who's the player to watch tonight?

Chris McMonigle (1:30)

All right. The player to watch tonight is going to be, all right, the player to watch tonight is going to be, you got that?

Craig Carton (1:40)

Come on.

Chris McMonigle (1:40)

San Francisco 49er wide receiver Jordan Watkins.

Craig Carton (1:44)

Okay.

Chris McMonigle (1:45)

Okay. That's like a rare name to bring up.

Craig Carton (1:48)

Yeah.

Chris McMonigle (1:48)

Because they're not number one in their depth chart.

Craig Carton (1:50)

No.

Chris McMonigle (1:51)

Right?

Craig Carton (1:52)

You got to tell us why.

Chris McMonigle (1:53)

Because I think they're going to be able to throw the football against the Rams.

SPEAKER_4 (1:57)

Okay.

Chris McMonigle (1:57)

They're going to do a lot of play action passing because the Rams are going to try to stuff up that box to stop the obvious Christian McCaffrey.

SPEAKER_4 (2:05)

Okay.

Chris McMonigle (2:05)

I'm a big Brock Purdy guy, and we just agreed you can't go with the obvious.

Craig Carton (2:10)

That's why I think Stribling is more the guy, the rookie they just drafted to see if he's going to be the one who impacts this passing game.

Chris McMonigle (2:19)

You could pick him, but you haven't yet.

Craig Carton (2:21)

All right. So Stribling is my guy.

Chris McMonigle (2:22)

So you're not picking a Ram? No.

Craig Carton (2:26)

I think we know the Rams. I think the player to watch is the young kid who's going to have to make a big step up and be a real important part of the wide receiving corps right off the bat.

Chris McMonigle (2:34)

Okay. Then I'm going to go Eddie Pinero. Go Pinero.

Craig Carton (2:37)

I don't care what you do. But I was going to say Malik Nabors, because Malik Nabors is obviously someone to watch.

SPEAKER_5 (2:45)

What if he's not playing?

Craig Carton (2:46)

Well, that's the point. We should watch him closely and find out if he's going to be out there. All right. But he just put out a clip.

Well, he didn't just put out a clip. He was interviewed after practice today. So there's sound from Nabors. And I want to play it and I want you to listen to it and tell me how you think it sounds. And I read this other clip. So I want to say this to you first before we hear another clip. But it was pretty much said to, it came out today that the Giants and the doctors are comfortable with him playing. And it's pretty much up to him. And if he's comfortable to go out there and play, right? So that's kind of out there.
