**Connor** (0:00)
It was nice working with you, Connor.
**Craig Carton** (0:01)
You had a good run.
Solid run here producing this show. I may actually bring Pete back from suspension. Let me just tell people why Pete Alonzo, Pete Alonzo, Peter Hoffman, is not producing this week, because over the weekend I got a text from Governor Christie.
**Chris Christie** (0:17)
I bet you did.
**Craig Carton** (0:18)
And he said, will you control your people? And I go, what are you talking about? And he goes, well, your producer, Peter Hoffman, who produces the Rico Bronya podcast.
**Chris Christie** (0:26)
Supposed to be a Med expert.
**Craig Carton** (0:27)
Supposed to be a Med expert.
**Chris Christie** (0:28)
Big Med fan.
**Craig Carton** (0:29)
Goes out on Twitter. And you may have seen this story. Great star. There's a young kid in St. Louis named Joshua Baez. His first three ad bouts in the pros. Home run, home run, home run. Awesome. It's a great story. Like we can all embrace a story like that, right? Kid gets a shot and obviously makes the most of it.
So Peter Hoffman, our producer, goes on Twitter and he writes down trying to be cute. David Stearns, as if David Stearns is responsible for him not being a Met.
Well, David Stearns did trade a bias.
**Chris Christie** (1:02)
Right.
**Craig Carton** (1:03)
Just not Joshua bias. He traded...
**Chris Christie** (1:09)
What's his name? I don't remember. Joshua.
**Craig Carton** (1:11)
He did not trade Joshua bias. He traded a different bias. Yeah. So of course, Pete's getting killed rightfully so on social media. You reach out to me because this is a representation of The Carton Show with Big Mac. Yeah. Jesus bias was the guy that started to trade it. Yeah. Not Joshua bias.
So I had to have a tough conversation like almost like a father son kind of conversation. I had a tough love them.
**Chris Christie** (1:37)
You well should have. Because there's not enough tough love out there. And by the way, he should be fired from the Rico Bronia broadcast.
**Craig Carton** (1:42)
That's not my place to do that.
**Chris Christie** (1:43)
I understand that. I don't do the Rico Bronia. It's your former partner.
**Craig Carton** (1:46)
Yes. Evan Roberts is the host of the Rico Bronia. I'd be embarrassed.
**Chris Christie** (1:49)
How can you continue to keep a guy on who thinks that?
**Craig Carton** (1:53)
Yeah. So now it's happened since I suspended him for the week with pay. I'm not a bad guy.
**Chris Christie** (1:59)
Other people call that a vacation in the summer.
**Craig Carton** (2:01)
Some people call it that, yes. I've never really spent much time on vacation, but yes.
In any event, he's now called me every day since the suspension, meaning yesterday and today. And what do you need for Thursday? You're going to book any guests for Wednesday? I go, dude, you're on suspension. I've got a producer, his name is Connor. And then Connor ruined it by playing some Bruce Springsteen.
**Chris Christie** (2:24)
You like Bruce Springsteen?
**Craig Carton** (2:25)
I do not.
**Chris Christie** (2:27)
Come on, yes.
**Craig Carton** (2:27)
I'm not a Bruce Springsteen hater, but I don't like Bruce Springsteen.
**Chris Christie** (2:30)
Why not?
**Craig Carton** (2:31)
Because Bruce Springsteen to me is this generation's Bob Dylan, a prolific, amazing writer, not a great singer, in my opinion. That's a fair.
**Chris Christie** (2:44)
What about as a performer?
**Craig Carton** (2:45)
That's a fair comp.
**Chris Christie** (2:46)
What about as a performer?
**Craig Carton** (2:47)
I'll say this. As a performer, especially now with him in his late mid-70s, I look at Mick Jagger the same way.
The fact that those guys can command a stage and don't just mail it in, which he could certainly do easily, play your 15 biggest hits, do an hour and a half, and people wouldn't be upset about that. The fact that he still does two to three hours, I have mad respect for that. But I'm not a fan of a lot of his music. You know the thing, you know the thing that I...
**Chris Christie** (3:15)
Not everybody has to be a fan.
**Craig Carton** (3:16)
No, I agree. But he's a great writer.
**Chris Christie** (3:18)
He is.
**Craig Carton** (3:18)
And he killed disco, which was upsetting to me.
**Chris Christie** (3:22)
You like disco?
**Craig Carton** (3:23)
I love disco.
**Chris Christie** (3:24)
It's your favorite disco song.
**Craig Carton** (3:25)
I don't have a single one, but blame it on the boogies right up there.
**Chris Christie** (3:28)
Really?
**Craig Carton** (3:28)
Yeah, the Jacksons, you may have heard of them. Michael, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Randy as well.
