Breece, Craig and Chris, appreciate a few minutes of your time. How you doing?
**Breece Hall** (0:03)
I'm great, I'm great.
**Craig Carton** (0:04)
Good to see you. You made a comment a couple weeks ago before training camp started that you had a different feel going into this training camp than the last couple. How much of that was chuching that you got paid?
**Breece Hall** (0:18)
Um, not even so much to do with that. It's just, I feel like this is the most team feel I've had since probably my first two years of my rookie year. I feel like a lot of the guys, like we're spending a lot of time together, hanging out with each other. There's more laughing, joking around, like just more camaraderie throughout the whole locker room. So I feel like, you know, that's been translating onto the field. And even today, like we started out slow, a little flat, but picked it up towards the end of practice and ended really well. But, you know, we're just working towards that goal of just, you know, not being too down, too low, just staying even kill and coming out and being consistent every day.
**Craig Carton** (0:51)
How much of that was, and I'm not taking a shot at him, but attributed to the fact that you had a guy that, because he's the first about Hall of Famer and Aaron Rodgers, sometimes can walk into a room and take all the oxygen out of it. Was there a part of that where you started having separate groups forming? There wasn't that kind of continuity and unity that you're talking about now?
**Breece Hall** (1:09)
No, Aaron's actually the biggest team guy. Like, he jokes around with everybody, likes to, you know, shoot the ****. He's a guy that, like, will go on defense on a walkthrough and, you know, what quarterback is doing that, you know, so, like. Guys trying to make the team usually. Yeah, I have the most respect for him and I would never, you know, don't really have anything bad to say about him, you know, just, you know, I think organizationally, we might not have been ready for him and what he brought and, you know, might not have, you know, had everything around him that he needed, but at the end of the day, you know, I love Aaron and I also love this organization too and I wish it would have worked out, but that just wasn't what happened.
**Craig Carton** (1:43)
Did you learn anything from him?
**Breece Hall** (1:44)
Yeah, I learned a lot and it's not even more so football stuff. It's just little nuggets that he would tell you about, like, life, you know, because a guy like him, you want to wonder, you want to know why he is the way he is, why he thinks the way he thinks. So just sit down. He was my locker mate too, so just sitting down with him every day, having conversations even when I was still going through my rehab, it was kind of just like, you know, very enlightening and then, you know, the first week he was here, he took me out and we went to the city with, we went to the city together, went to a Rangers game. Like, you know, he just really took time to get to know me.
And he was big on that. Yeah, he loved it. What happened, man? Broadway shows, Rangers games, Knicks games. Being with him, like I said, he's the ultimate team guy, so it was never, never any of that.
**Craig Carton** (2:27)
Then let's transition from him to, obviously, Geno Smith now, first year, but second time through, obviously, you weren't here when Geno was first here. I know he had a tough practice today. It looks like he's been very hot, very cold in this particular training camp.
Give us an idea of what you see out of this version of Geno Smith so far.
**Breece Hall** (2:46)
Yeah, same guy every day. The man is the best out of himself and the man is the best out of others. So I feel like for us, all we can do is just service him how he needs to. And I feel like he's the guy that, as long as we're doing our job, our 111, he's gonna be able to get the ball to whoever he needs to and get us in the right look. So I feel like being around him has been cool because he has a little bit of airing too with him being like the OG in the bed, in the locker room and him joking around, but him also telling us, hey, hey, we gotta lock in, let's go.
