Gorgeous Friday in New York City.
Chris McMonigle (0:02)
You wonder why I'm deaf.
Huh? Yeah, you wonder why I'm deaf. I nearly jumped out of the seat.
Craig Carton (0:08)
Huh?
Chris McMonigle (0:09)
You gotta lower that thing. Huh? And then when I take it for the last stop of The Carton Show, I sit in your seat in case they ever did care enough to put a video of just me out.
Craig Carton (0:20)
It's enough for you, by the way.
Chris McMonigle (0:21)
Yeah, I know it is. But a lot of you lately. A lot of me lately.
Craig Carton (0:23)
Yeah, a lot of you lately.
Chris McMonigle (0:24)
A lot of me.
Craig Carton (0:25)
Say it, go ahead.
Chris McMonigle (0:26)
No, I got you. And every time I plug in my headphones and it's like.
Craig Carton (0:30)
Yeah. Boom. That's exactly right.
Chris McMonigle (0:32)
That's right.
Craig Carton (0:33)
That's how you do it.
Chris McMonigle (0:34)
I think Somers is doing the podcast in the other studio.
Barry (0:36)
Huh? Huh?
Craig Carton (0:37)
He's still here?
Chris McMonigle (0:38)
Still here.
Craig Carton (0:39)
God bless him.
Chris McMonigle (0:40)
God bless him.
Barry (0:41)
Right?
Kevin (0:43)
Can't get rid of him.
Chris McMonigle (0:46)
Can't get rid of him. No, that's my dog right there, Stevie Somers.
Kevin (0:50)
No, I know.
Chris McMonigle (0:51)
That guy's going nowhere.
Craig Carton (0:53)
Well, that's not nice of you.
Chris McMonigle (0:55)
Why not?
Craig Carton (0:55)
That guy's going nowhere?
Chris McMonigle (0:57)
He's going nowhere.
Craig Carton (0:58)
Not the way you said it.
Chris McMonigle (0:59)
He's sticking around forever.
Craig Carton (1:00)
Oh, he is. Once a week comes in, I think he does a podcast.
Chris McMonigle (1:02)
He's going to outlive us all. I'm convinced.
Craig Carton (1:04)
The Shmooze Podcast, right? Yeah. 888-808-119.
Chris McMonigle (1:08)
It came from behind. There you go.
Craig Carton (1:10)
Whatever makes you happy. Now that the Yankees are done, you do what you got to do. You make sure you got your house in order. That's exactly right.
Chris McMonigle (1:18)
My house is in order.
Craig Carton (1:19)
Is it?
Chris McMonigle (1:20)
Yeah.
Craig Carton (1:20)
You wear track shoes in that house or no?
Chris McMonigle (1:22)
I'm not allowed to wear shoes in the house, you know that.
Kevin (1:24)
I'm sorry.
Chris McMonigle (1:27)
The second, if I have to run to the bathroom from coming in, that like if I'm coming from.
Craig Carton (1:31)
You better take them off.
Chris McMonigle (1:32)
I can't, if I'm like, I gotta go like just run in. No, no, no, no. Shoes, shoes.
Craig Carton (1:36)
Is that a mom thing or wife thing?
Chris McMonigle (1:38)
No, it's a wife thing. That's a wife thing? Yeah, no.
Craig Carton (1:39)
Is that if she grew up as well? Yes.
Chris McMonigle (1:42)
I didn't grow up like that. No, your in-laws did. Shoes in the house, my in-laws, yeah. Right, right. No shoes in the house.
Craig Carton (1:47)
The only time you take your shoes off is if you go into like an open house, like if you want to buy a house, and the owner might be like, you know what?
Chris McMonigle (1:53)
A lot of people track it in there. Our kids play on the floor, you track an immense amount of germs and whatever through the house when you wear your shoes.
Craig Carton (2:00)
Yeah. That's the rationale behind it?
Chris McMonigle (2:02)
Yes.
Craig Carton (2:03)
All right, listen.
Chris McMonigle (2:04)
Whatever makes her happy. I don't argue.
Craig Carton (2:06)
Shoes come off. Whatever makes her happy.
Chris McMonigle (2:08)
Shoes come off.
Craig Carton (2:08)
Kevin's in the manner that Sal's, great slice of pizza, of course. Kevin, how you doing, buddy?
Kevin (2:15)
Well, you know, I'm still recovering from another loss. It was my third year in a row at the stadium when I saw another team celebrate.
So today's better because the weather is nice. So I have an observation, a comment and a question. So the observation, first of all, I love the cadence between you two. I think it's what makes your show so great is, you know, just the back and forth, the way you guys just play off each other. So besides the, you know, you obviously know your sports, but the show itself is pretty entertaining because of that. So here's my comment. That story from Chris, and by the way, I'm a season ticket holder. I watch 120 I'm like a diehard fan. That's a non-story. It's a non-story. Like he doesn't want to come on your show because it's slipped out of his mouth.
