I just want to say real quick, I'm in a fight right now with the city of Chicago.

Chris McMonigle (0:03)

You're in a fight with the entire city?

Craig Carton (0:04)

Yeah, I'm in a fight with the city of Chicago. You know Chicago, and I love Chicago.

Chris McMonigle (0:10)

To my sweet home, Chicago.

Craig Carton (0:12)

Too bad you can't keep an NFL team in Chicago, because you're a bunch of minor leaguers when it's all said and done. But neither here nor there, on that.

Chris McMonigle (0:19)

On that front.

Craig Carton (0:21)

So I'm in a big fight with Chicago, because this Caleb Williams reaction to what is barely even a strained hamstring.

Chris McMonigle (0:30)

Judges hurt worse.

Craig Carton (0:31)

Yeah, exactly right. Like, I pulled my hammie, literally taking a dump yesterday, and I didn't cover my head in a towel.

Chris McMonigle (0:40)

I could not believe.

Craig Carton (0:41)

And take myself out of the game and wave to the crowd in some heroic gesture of, I'm gonna be okay, Chicago.

Chris McMonigle (0:47)

When, so many different elements of this. One, I don't know about you, watching it live, I assume when he went down. Achilles or knee? No, see, when he started to react the way he did, yes.

Craig Carton (1:00)

Yeah, because there's no contact.

Chris McMonigle (1:01)

When he first goes down, I did assume hamstring. You kind of get that like, that natural kind of like back thing that the hamstring gives. Then he goes to the ground. And I thought to myself, oh man, the hamstring went. Then he stays on the ground and he's in tears and rolling around banging the floor. And I'm like, wow, I misread that. He's got a devastating knee injury.

Craig Carton (1:22)

I thought knee or Achilles, the two things.

Chris McMonigle (1:23)

And then he's getting carted off. He's got his head in the towel. I could not believe when we heard after the game last night that it's a hamstring. And then further today when we find out it's like a grade one.

Craig Carton (1:35)

Well, they have a new update.

Chris McMonigle (1:36)

And they're not ruling him out for next week. What's the new update?

Craig Carton (1:39)

The new update is Kayla Williams has not been ruled out yet. I think they play the Eagles on Monday Night Football.

Chris McMonigle (1:45)

He won't play this week.

Craig Carton (1:46)

Well, it's Monday night, so it's extra day to get ready. I still don't think he'd play.

But according to Chicago Bears' training staff, Kayla Williams did not strain his achilles. That's a positive. His knee is fine. That's a positive. He has two things with him now. He has a grade one strain of his hamstring and a grade three strain of his vagina.

Chris McMonigle (2:15)

You got me.

Craig Carton (2:20)

You got me on that one.

SPEAKER_3 (2:22)

I'm literally listening to you, you idiot.

Craig Carton (2:27)

You would have thought he got shot.

Chris McMonigle (2:28)

I could not. I have to admit.

Craig Carton (2:30)

Crying, waving to the crowd, like, I'm gonna be okay, Chicago.

Chris McMonigle (2:35)

I thought he was done for the year.

Craig Carton (2:37)

So did I. And then, real quick, since we're doing our quarterback injuries, there was another big one yesterday, which is, I hate to say this, but a positive outcome for the Giants.

Chris McMonigle (2:45)

Well, Jimmy Gaines.

Craig Carton (2:46)

I know you don't root for it, but it's not a bad thing for the Giants.

Chris McMonigle (2:48)

Well, see how many, I mean, a couple weeks, I would think he missed.

Craig Carton (2:51)

Well, that's my question. So they lose, they get blown out, essentially, by the Cowboys. Cowboys' offense looked pretty good yesterday, to be fair.

Chris McMonigle (2:57)

That's right.

Craig Carton (2:59)

That, yeah, I got you. That being said, he dislocated the left elbow.

Same injury he had last year as well. I think he's done it twice before, actually. And it's obviously, like, I couldn't watch it enough. It's, like, so cool to watch the body do that.

SPEAKER_3 (3:14)

Yeah.

Craig Carton (3:14)

And pop the elbow out like that.

Chris McMonigle (3:15)

And they showed it enough on TV, too.

Craig Carton (3:17)

Which I'm glad. And now Tom Brady curses, like, holy ass.

SPEAKER_3 (3:20)

It was whatever. It wasn't what it was. He said, oh.

Craig Carton (3:22)

Like, it wasn't a gruesome injury, but I kind of enjoyed watching it over and over again, to be honest.

That being said, and I'm just asking a question like a lay person who has no medical background at all. Many of you know I was premed at college. That being the case, why can't he play on Sunday?
