**Craig Carton** (0:00)
If you didn't like the Springsteen movie, just say it.
**Chris Christie** (0:02)
It's fine.
**Craig Carton** (0:04)
It's okay not to like it.
**Chris Christie** (0:05)
Good musical choice.
**Craig Carton** (0:06)
Yes, it's mine. This is good. Connor knows what's up.
**Chris Christie** (0:10)
He knows what to play.
**Chris McMonigle** (0:11)
I played nice and safe back here.
**Craig Carton** (0:12)
That's exactly right. A lot of creed on this show.
Yeah, why didn't you like the Springsteen movie? It's so weird. Being a big fan of Springsteen.
**Chris Christie** (0:19)
By the way, that's so wrong of you. Again, you're making stuff up on the way out of the...
**Craig Carton** (0:24)
For a guy that's seen him on seven continents, I would think you would have loved the movie.
**Chris Christie** (0:28)
I loved the movie. Oh, you did?
**Craig Carton** (0:30)
I guess I misheard you.
**Chris Christie** (0:31)
The movie was amazing.
**Craig Carton** (0:34)
Yeah.
**Chris Christie** (0:34)
And I loved it. And I think it tells everybody what they need to know about Bruce, that he'd be willing to put that side of him out there.
**Craig Carton** (0:41)
Yeah, it's like a dark side, right?
**Chris McMonigle** (0:43)
Very dark. I didn't see it, but you told me about it.
**Chris Christie** (0:45)
About depression and about ultimately going out and getting help and recovering.
**Chris McMonigle** (0:50)
There you go.
**Chris Christie** (0:50)
And, you know, a lot of people think, what does Bruce Springsteen have to be depressed about? Well, we say that about a lot of people who suffer from depression, right?
**Craig Carton** (0:57)
And then depression is real, mental health is real. And just because you're a billionaire doesn't mean you can't be depressed once in a while.
**Chris Christie** (1:03)
It's very true.
**Craig Carton** (1:04)
It's just nobody wants to hear it.
**Chris Christie** (1:06)
Well, that's true.
**Chris McMonigle** (1:07)
That's the other side of it. That is true, too.
**Craig Carton** (1:09)
What is, of all the shows you've seen of his, and you've been blessed to have had some great access to see him throughout the world, do you have a favorite venue to see him? Like, would you prefer Bruce at the Stone Pony, small, right up on the stage? Do you prefer him at MetLife? Would you rather like the Garden? What's your favorite place to see the guy that you've seen so many times?
**Chris Christie** (1:31)
The two most fun places to see Bruce are Milan, Italy.
**Chris McMonigle** (1:38)
The place is an outdoor, an amphitheater kind of thing?
**Chris Christie** (1:40)
It's an outdoor San Siro Stadium, soccer stadium in Milan. Incredible.
And Barcelona.
**Craig Carton** (1:49)
Really?
**Chris Christie** (1:51)
Only because...
**Chris McMonigle** (1:51)
Same kind of stadium set up?
**Chris Christie** (1:53)
Barcelona FC Stadium. The fans are insane.
**Craig Carton** (1:59)
So can I stop you there and ask you a question? If I take for granted that the majority of people in Barcelona and in Milan are probably not English speaking as a first language, or maybe don't know any English at all, but I imagine they sing the songs in English, right?
**Chris Christie** (2:15)
They sing every word in English with an Italian or Spanish accent.
And it is the wildest thing to listen to. And they are crazed from... You get within 15 or 20 minutes of the start and they start chanting.
**Craig Carton** (2:32)
Like a soccer game?
**Chris Christie** (2:33)
Yes.
**Craig Carton** (2:33)
Really?
**Chris Christie** (2:34)
Until he gets out there. And then when he gets out there...
**Craig Carton** (2:37)
Mayhem?
**Chris Christie** (2:38)
It is absolute mayhem. And the last show that I saw him in Milan was two summers ago.
Tremendous number of celebrities there and stuff. But it was 98 degrees at showtime. And he put off the show because of the heat. Till 8.30. And it was 98 degrees at 8.30.
And he played three hours. And the fan...
**Craig Carton** (3:05)
And how old is he?
**Chris Christie** (3:06)
At that time, he was 75 He will be 77 in September.
**Craig Carton** (3:12)
Got it.
**Chris Christie** (3:13)
And he played three hours. And the fans were insane. So Milan... And the difference about people who say, Oh, it has to be New Jersey.
I think the difference is that in Milan and Barcelona, they don't see him that often.
**Craig Carton** (3:26)
And so it's special.
**Chris Christie** (3:27)
Or more special. It's more special. And in New Jersey, there's a great love for him. But the insanity isn't quite... It's still the best in America, but Milan and Barcelona are incredible.
