So we've given you the situation if you're attending the game tonight. The New York Police Department has tweeted this out starting at 4 PM today. So about two hours from now, vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be closed from West 30th Street to West 35th Street between 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue. So that's essentially the area around the garden. No one will be allowed inside the secure area unless you have a ticket to the game, a train ticket or going to a business inside the area, have credentials or have some other authorized reason to be there. Now a lot has been made about the president going to the game tonight. You know, it's going to ruin the vibes, it's going to make it tough to get in. And I don't understand this thinking. Now, no matter where you stand on this president and how you feel about this president, the president of the United States goes where he wants to go. And anywhere the president goes, there's going to be a disruption, there's going to be congestion, there's going to be heavy security. Why should it ruin the vibe of this great moment in New York sports? Is it going to be tougher to get into that arena? Yes. Can you get in? Yes. If you follow the protocols. But we're going to sit here and we're going to say Trump shouldn't go to the game. Why? Again, presidents do what they want to do. They've been elected to the highest level of office in the world. And they go where they want to go.
He's been to football games, he's been to the national championship games. He's a big sports fan and he likes to be seen and he's going to go. So we're going to sit here and we're going to bemoan the fact that he's going rather than, okay, that's one more obstacle that a New Yorker has to overcome. Big deal.
Really, big deal. Every time the UN is in session, it's a nightmare to get around the East Side, a nightmare. And when the president is at the UN, whatever president might be, try getting around the East Side. But we're going to make a big deal and kick up a storm about this. And I think the only reason that this deal is being made bigger than any other time the president appears anywhere is because a lot of people don't like this president. But also there's a lot of people that do like this president. He wants to go to the NBA finals, he's going to the NBA finals. And sitting there and whining about it and crying about it does nothing. Tell me anytime the president has appeared anywhere, not just this president, any president, a president of the United States has appeared anywhere and there has not been a disruption of everyday life. That's just the way it is. And there should be a phalanx of security around the garden. And it should be a suffocating security perimeter because the president is there and you don't want anything to happen. And if anything, God forbid, happen, then that would take away from the vibe. But they're making sure that nothing does happen. People have to get over it. Oh, he shouldn't come. How dare he take away? He does what he wants. Every president does what they want.
That's just the way it is. Highest office in the land. You want to go somewhere, you're going to go somewhere. And when you go somewhere, the Secret Service is going to be all over it and they are going to secure the perimeter.
So, starting at 4 o'clock today, if you don't have business around the garden and if you don't have a ticket, don't try it.
Sit back. I mean, I've been stunned by the amount of people. He shouldn't come. He's going to ruin it for... How is he going to ruin it for everybody? People who get in, who went to the US Open, was it disruption? Yes. Was it a delay in the start of a match? Yes. That's the way it is. So crying about it, so I could have changed it. Just deal with it. He's the president of the United States. I'll repeat it a thousand times. He can go wherever he wants to go.
