Well, they didn't really answer my question, but Michael's not here.
Jake has been filling in for another hour. Jalen Brunson is coming on at the start of the three o'clock hour with Alan and Peter. And one of the producers of the afternoon show, Jacob, is standing by. And I want to know, Jacob, Mr. Perry, what are you going to say to Jalen Brunson when he calls in? Have you prepared your response to El Capitan? Are you going to thank him for being our Lord and Savior? What are you going to say to him?

**Jacob Perry** (1:13)
I have no clue what I'm going to say to Jalen Brunson.

**Jake Asman** (1:15)
How does it normally work? Take us inside. Guest is calling in. Your job is to pick it up, screen it, make sure it's the person and get them set to go on the air. What would you normally say?

**Jacob Perry** (1:25)
You know, usually you don't say, hey, thanks for joining the show. You know, you're with Don, Honda Rosenberg. Today will be Don and Peter.

**Jake Asman** (1:32)
So no Alan.

**Jacob Perry** (1:33)
Well, sorry, it'll be Alan and Peter. No, Don.
Just like no, Michael K. No, Don. Don's on vacation. Thanks for joining us, by the way. Congrats on the championship. Yada yada yada.

But I don't know what I would say. You know, Anthony jokingly said on the train, hey, you going to pick up the phone for Jalen Brunson? I said, sure.
But mind you, this is me on the train. I couldn't hear anything. I got screeching going on. So I heard Brunson. I was like, sure. And then I thought back to it. I was like, what did I sign myself up to? Now, for the next hour, I'm going to say here to debate what I'm going to say to Jalen Brunson.

Make sure your hands aren't too sweaty. Make sure you have a nice firm grip on the phone. I want to make sure that we do everything properly. You'll be ready to live in the now. Don't overthink it. You say hello and you say, Mr. Brunson, my lord and savior.
You got to come up with something for us. Just tell him how much I personally love him.

**Jacob Perry** (2:49)
I will. Well, first of all, I'm a Jake. If I tell him, hey, Jake loves you too.

**Jake Asman** (2:54)

**Jacob Perry** (2:56)
Oh, there we go. See, that's the perfect way to say it.

Well, good luck, man. You're living the dream. You know how many people would die to pick up a phone call from Jalen Brunson right now?

Listen, I just got to take them in to lunch at this point. I got to thank him for what he did.

I mean, he's still, well, I don't want to say he's still in service, but that's what he's doing. But I'll be laying on my back in the wellness room, just waiting on Jalen Brunson.

And then afterwards, when you take the phone call, and it's like, oh, thanks for coming on, Jalen. You got to do it quick. Thanks for coming on, Jalen. You got to hit him quick before he hangs up. He's got the ESPys tonight. Thanks for being honored for best team. He could be quick. He could have a quick trigger. When the interview's done, you got to be ready to pounce.
