All right, so game four is tonight. It is enormous for both teams. I actually believe the Knicks have the most pressure because they're the ones that looked like they were going to cakewalk to the title by winning the first two games on the road. Then they lose a very painful game in game three. They've got to win this one to take back the momentum. Don't let San Antonio think that it's back in the series because they've got one toe in the pool right now. They want to jump in. And once they get in the pool, if they win tonight, then they're going to think they're fully on their way to a title. They just are. Vegas has always thought it was going to be San Antonio. A lot of the cognacente of the NBA seem to think that it was going to be San Antonio.
But we watched the Knicks win all those games in a row. Before this series began, they had won 11 straight. And 11 straight in a way that no one has ever won 11 straight by the amount of points that they won.
It had never been done, even in the regular season. That's how special this Knicks team was. So we expected them to be able to find the answers. And they had the answers from Wembanyama in games one and two. They didn't have the answers in game three. And he got a little chippy. And he's a chippy player. A lot of players from Europe are chippy players. That's the way they play the game. So you have to find a way around it. You just do. So they look back at the tapes and they said, you know what, it wasn't a flagrant one. And they're not going to give them a flagrant one. Because he already has two points. If you have four points, you're out. You're out for the next game. That's what happened to Draymond Green.
And as I mentioned in the first hour, Draymond Green, you can suspend. Isn't that a star? He's a worker bee.
Wembanyama is a star.
He's a star. The league revolves around him. And it's going to revolve around him more as time goes on. Now, should it be as overt as it's been? No, it shouldn't be. But the Knicks have to accept that it is. And they have to do what they can to have a workaround. Make sure that every single time you drive the lane, you make them pay for being in the way. And please, don't misinterpret it that they should be dirty. That's not what I'm saying. Be aggressive. Be physical. Play the game hard. Make him feel every single foul.
Because we've seen, we saw in the Western Conference Finals, he gets fatigued. During the regular season, the average 28 minutes a game. Now that's somewhat skewed because it was a time that he was coming back from injury where he played like 22 minutes a game. That's what they limited him to. But when you look at all the games that he played, it was 28 minutes a game. And in the postseason, it's 39 minutes a game. He's not physically strong. He's just not. He's real thin. He's like a pixie stick figure. He just is.
We saw him get tired in games one and two. We saw him, in his words, get blurry at the end of game two, when they could have won. They would have a stranglehold on the series right now. If he hits that shot, which was an open shot. People could say, well, Mitch was right there. Mitch was right there. It was still an open shot. It was still an open shot and he missed it. And I think Fatid played a big role in it, coming off a seven game series against Oklahoma City. And I think he got a little bit of a reset because of the extra day off because of the travel. That's what the NBA does in the finals. You play game one, one day off game two. You play game two, a couple of days off because of the travel. So then he was energizing game three. And now again, one day off between game three and four. Let's see if it's all still there. Let's see if he's as active. And make sure he's not by being physical with him. Make him pay for every single thing. Don't shy away from going into the paint. I gave this analogy yesterday. I grew up in the Bronx in a 20 story building.
