Let's take a couple calls. I just want to be clear. Like, Spencer Jones is winning the job. If the playoff started today, I would play Spencer Jones. But I am open to the idea that this is an ongoing thing until the playoff start. And I'm giving Trent Grisham as much time because if Trent Grisham gets going at the right time, we have seen him be dynamic. That's all.
And I just, over a young kid who is playing really great, there's no doubt about it, over a young kid playing really great, I'm still open to the idea of Trent Grisham winning this job back. But right now, Spencer Jones should be winning it. There's no doubt. If the playoff started today, it should be Spencer Jones.

Well, I think that's fair. It's also not...
There's worse problems to have as a team, that you're getting everyone back, now you have to make tough decisions. And I get it. Grisham hasn't played well over the last three weeks, two weeks, and it's not as tough of a decision. But it could be something where you're trying to fit two guys into a line up that suck.

And it's not that. And when Judge comes back, I'm not just making it a one man thing. That's the thing. When Judge comes back, it's not just Judge and Spencer Jones and Centerfield. About how he does so good, and then randomly after one bad pitch, he kind of fizzles out.

I don't think that this is a new thing. I kind of think if you look back on his career, he's been great, and I think that he's been given a chance to get out of situations, and he has, but.
There's always that one pitch. If you go back and look, it's always been like a dual It's a big. downfall of his.

I don't remember necessarily a ton of this. I'm noticing it now where it feels like he just runs out of gas all at once. There's always the one pitch that hurts you. I mean, that could be any starter who makes the bad pitch and gives up the home run. Sure, it came down to the one pitch that hurt him. I'm talking about looking gassed all at once after even a dominant start. Like last night, dominant. Then it just felt like the inning got away from him. Same thing in Houston. He was looking dominant. Then it just felt like the inning got away from him and he couldn't get it back. He looks gassed relatively quickly.
Yeah, and gassed and tired. Yeah. I don't think it's necessarily, oh, throughout his career, it's been the one pitch that gets him. That's almost any good starter who's ever lost a game.

I know we're talking about him giving up three runs. I think a part of my opinion is like, Oh, I'm still a good start last night.

I watched him at the Yankee, at the Yankee, you know?

And even as a starter last night, I felt good about a start. I'm not saying, I'm just saying, I have a real question because the bullpen is so limited.
The bullpen is so limited.
And the starting pitching is going to be so important.
And even when Cole is great, it almost feels like you have to have you guys ready to go at any moment. And I go, that's a lot of postseason series anyway. But they don't have a lot of guys to, like in the sixth inning, last night they were able to get through it. In the sixth inning, they had to go to their best reliever to get out of a jam from an excellent Gerrit Cole from the bottom middle of the lousy Angels lineup. Like that's my only thought. Like it's just, hey, he was cruising and even then it came all at once and you had to go right to your top relievers. You only have two of them outside of Bednar. And can these other guys be the guys you trust to get out of jams like that? Like he brought in Hendrick, he got the strikeout, they won the game because of it. It was a huge moment in the game to get that, leave that runner stranded at third. I'm just saying, you've got, even with this great rotation, Cam can throw a ton of pitches when he strikes out a bunch of people. You've already got Fried kind of piggybacking here with Warren and you're not sure where he's gonna get pitch wise and even Cole who you trust, don't get me wrong, trust him, it was a great start. Feels like it falls apart on him quick.
