Welcome back to the show on a free for all Friday. The Jets begin their preseason schedule tonight against the Bucs. And Aaron Glenn said he's going to play everybody. And I think, as I said earlier, that's a smart move by him. Now, what I'm going to talk about next really, truly angers me. And it's not performative because that's not how I do the show. There's a lot of people I do talk radio and television that they do performative outrage. I don't. I can't. I'm not that good an actor other than Grown Ups 2 where I was tremendous. But this really bothers me. So Terry and Arnold is a cornerback. He is now looking at 8 felony counts of connection. This is in February of robbery and kidnapping. So long story short, he thought that there were some guys that robbed him. So he and his buddies got these guys. This is all alleged, right? Got these guys and pistol whipped them and held them and robbed them and then sent them on their way. But the only problem was those guys didn't rob him. So he was a case of mistaken identity. But they went to the police and then the police arrested Terry and Arnold and his crew.
It was so, such a bad accusation. Again, eight felony counts of robbery and kidnapping, kidnapping, okay, that he was released by the Detroit Lions. So the Lions, they saw enough of Terry and Arnold and the stuff that was being, he was being accused of, they released him. So he played two years in the NFL, 24 career games, one interception, and 18 passes deflected, okay? So you would think everybody deserves a day in court. And of course, his lawyer has come out in public and said, he's absolutely innocent of all of these charges. But by the way, before you go on, tell me the lawyer that's representing a guy that's been accused of terrible things, that when they make a public statement, they go, boy, you got him. This guy's a creep. He did everything that he's being accused of. No, no, that doesn't happen. That's not what lawyers do. They come out and say, he's absolutely innocent. So his lawyer has come out, he's going to be cleared of all these charges. That everybody in this great country of ours has the opportunity to defend themselves. Innocent until proven guilty. Cool. But if you're an NFL team, are you that horny for a talent that you want to get in bed with this guy? Are you that desperate that you can't wait for this guy to be cleared? Again, the team that had him, cut him.
So at the beginning of the week, I was reading stories and I said, I'm going to hold off on this to see exactly. The Jets were interested. The Giants, you know, the paragon of everything that's right. They talked with Terry and Arnold. And another team did as well. But now, he ends up signing with the Seahawks.
The Super Bowl champions, they need to put themselves in bed with this guy who has so much stink attached to him. And that's my point to all of you.
It's a vicious, dirty business sports because there's so much money involved that you would investigate signing this guy who again has 8 felony counts of robbery and kidnapping over his head. You cannot stay away from that. Again, this isn't a great player. This isn't Joe Burrow or Justin Jefferson. This is not a great player. This is a marginal cornerback, but you can't help yourself. So spare me when somebody does something wrong. Spare me that, and it happens in every sport, and every team will get involved with the worst miscreants that you could possibly think of, because they think that they could help you win one game. One game. And you don't mind being associated with that. The Seahawks should be embarrassed. The Jets and the Giants are even talking to them and exploring it should be embarrassed. Now I'm going to give them a little bit of a pass. Maybe they talked with the guy and they said, this guy's bad news.
