**Craig Carton** (0:00)
All right, just after 3 o'clock Carton Show Big Mac, Yankees trying to take another series tonight, Gerrit Cole be on the mound. Jets giants tomorrow night. And again, unless I missed it, I have not seen word yet, have you?
**SPEAKER_2** (0:14)
I have not.
**Craig Carton** (0:15)
In regards to, for both franchises, who the starting quarterback is going to be. I think both guys gotta play. And my gut is they are going to play, but I think they both have to play. You can't go to the season two weeks from now.
Having both guys got in, what, ten snaps for Gino, 14 for Jackson.
**Chris McMonigle** (0:35)
I think it's more important for Dart than Gino, but he's a veteran quarterback. Like, I know.
**SPEAKER_4** (0:40)
New offense, new teammates, new everything, right?
**Chris McMonigle** (0:43)
But he's just, he's been around, he's played for multiple teams, he's been in new offenses on a year to year basis for the last seven years practically. Like, I'm not saying I wouldn't play him, I agree with you, I think he should play, but I think it's more important for Jackson Dart than it is for Gino Smith.
**Craig Carton** (0:57)
Why, if I had to rate the two, yes.
**SPEAKER_4** (0:59)
But I think both should play.
**Craig Carton** (1:00)
But they both have to play. Look, even though Gino Smith in the offense was awesome last week, seven for seven, you had the touchdown on the opening drive, it was great. He's had ten snaps with the Jets offense. And by the way, missed a bunch of practices because his anchor was banged up a little bit. Jackson Dart, he's got a whole 14 starts in his NFL career. New offensive coordinator, new head coach, some new teammates has not played with, as we said yesterday, with Millie's neighbors all that much. Not that he's going to be with the ones right now in practice. So I just don't, I don't think you could approach it as, well, what if they get hurt? Dude, it's still, it's two weeks from tomorrow to the opening of the season.
It is?
**Chris McMonigle** (1:43)
No, I know it is, but injuries can last further than two weeks.
**Craig Carton** (1:46)
I know that, but look, it's football. Yeah, some guys are going to get hurt. That's going to suck, right?
**Chris McMonigle** (1:50)
Gino Smith can tell you, he got a starting job because of an injury.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:53)
By the way, a lot of guys have.
**Craig Carton** (1:55)
Yeah, that's right. Mark Sanchez had to beat the Giants because Rex Ryan had to win the Snoopy Ball. I would love to talk to Rex one day about that.
I imagine that and the Foot Fetish video probably is two biggest regrets or no.
**SPEAKER_5** (2:09)
I don't think, Tim Tebow.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:11)
Yeah.
**Craig Carton** (2:12)
Right? Tim Tebow has got to be on that with the slow motion, topless running in the rain.
And by the way, I've been told that Tim Tebow did it on purpose.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:22)
He ran in slow motion?
**Craig Carton** (2:23)
I was told from a teammate of his that he was aware the camera was there.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:26)
He waited for the end of practice, yeah.
**Craig Carton** (2:28)
Practice was a wrap.
He was the last guy off the field, and he knew exactly what type of thirst trap video he was putting out there. And I believe it.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:40)
I find that hard to believe.
**Craig Carton** (2:41)
And I'm grateful for it.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:43)
I mean, he's the only guy who runs around in the rain with no shirt on. I'm sure half the team did it. You think he knew that he was going to have that video blown?
**Craig Carton** (2:48)
I'm just telling you, a teammate of his told me that.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:51)
There's a chance he likes to be at the center of attention and had no problem being filmed in such a manner. But I don't think he was like, oh, I'll do this and it'll go everywhere.
**SPEAKER_4** (2:59)
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:01)
Yeah, chariots of fire.
**SPEAKER_2** (3:02)
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
**Craig Carton** (3:05)
Oh, I was in the $6 million man thing. I conflated it with the one I wanted to do, though, because it's a chariots of fire. How's that one go again?
**Chris McMonigle** (3:13)
Isn't it, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
**SPEAKER_4** (3:16)
Is that chariots of fire or is that $6 million man?
**Craig Carton** (3:20)
I thought $6 million man was that, though. Pete, if you're gonna text me now, people, and you could play one of those two theme songs for me?
