**Jake Asman** (0:47)
Jake Espn in for Michael, taking you till Don, Han and Rosenberg. At the top of the hour, 3 o'clock, the guys will come on. We are with you until then. A lot of baseball in the opening hour. We'll still certainly talk a little baseball. So the US. World Cup team is in action tonight, but based on my research here and talking with the esteemed Joe Leo and Harvey Cruz during the break, sounds like this game doesn't really mean anything. They're playing Turkey A, but the US has already won their group, Group D, and they're going to face a third place team from groups B, E, F, I or J.
Turkey A has already been eliminated as last place in the group because they lost to Australia and Paraguay. US beat both those teams. So what's the reason to watch this tonight at 10 p.m.? Is Christian Polisic, who grew up a big jet fan, is he the reason why I'm supposed to watch, to see his return from the calf injury, to see how he looks? Harvey, you're the soccer guy. Tell me.
**Harvey Cruz** (1:44)
Well, I mean, he's A reason to watch. I think the only reason to really watch is because it's A, it's the best sport in the world, and B, it's just the fact that for the first time ever, I believe, the US can win out their group for the first time ever. And look, they're basically nailed on to play Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32
So really, you only lose if you lose any players for that match.
**Jake Asman** (2:06)
So shouldn't we rest Polisic unless he's absolutely 100%? Maybe you just let him get some live game action and you pull him and say, hey man, we need to keep you healthy for the round of 32?
**Harvey Cruz** (2:16)
Yeah, I mean, yes and no, you could just rest him, but then he'd be out. He wouldn't have any game time under his legs for about two weeks, which is not really ideal.
**Jake Asman** (2:23)
So how long would you play him, assuming he's actually telling the truth and he's healthy?
**Harvey Cruz** (2:27)
20, 25 minutes.
**Jake Asman** (2:28)
Just let him start the game, essentially.
**Harvey Cruz** (2:30)
You can have him start the game, but then it'd be weird to then pull him in the first half. I'd probably start him in the second half, get some action under his legs, and then maybe during the hydration break, which is not fun, or just during the 70th, 75th minute, you can pull him.
**Jake Asman** (2:47)
You're anti-hydration, Harvey Crews?
**Harvey Cruz** (2:49)
Oh, I hate it. It's the worst.
**Jake Asman** (2:50)
Wow, you want these guys to dehydrate on the field? You monster.
**Harvey Cruz** (2:53)
They're not dehydrating at all. I know what you're trying to say, but they're playing in indoor arenas for the most part.
**Jake Asman** (2:59)
It sounds like you want guys to be dehydrated.
**Harvey Cruz** (3:02)
No, I think there's enough hydration in their bodies to...
**Jake Asman** (3:05)
We have hydration breaks as talk show hosts. It's called the commercial break.
What do you think I'm doing during the commercial break? Gulping down some water.
**Harvey Cruz** (3:13)
Any ice in that water?
**Jake Asman** (3:14)
No, no ice. There's ice in my veins, though, baby. Oh, yeah.
**Joe Leo** (3:17)
Don't you feel like you get more without the ice?
**Jake Asman** (3:20)
It depends on the type of drink. Sometimes you need the ice. Who wants to drink lukewarm water?
**Harvey Cruz** (3:25)
Sometimes. I think always you need the ice. Even if you're in Antarctica, you need the ice.
**Jake Asman** (3:30)
I don't know about that.
**Harvey Cruz** (3:32)
Well, you got ice in your veins or not? You got to keep it that way.
